Before I start, let me give a reader's digest version of what I bring to the table. No need to read any further if I don't meet a linkshells requirements right?
75 Brd/Cor/Blm/Nin/Rng---all subjobs----100% merited (well not ninja tool expertise etc, but the useful ones are opened and maxed)
100 woodworking with all subs/guild items
100 fishing with ebisu
max digging
100 cooking mule
92 gold mule with all guild items
98 bone mule (too lazy to finish it)
All areas unlocked---dynamis tav, bahamut v2, etc
All ZM, COP, TAU missions done. Like 2 fights from being caught up on wotg.
Multiple gearsets for all jobs. Nothing fancy. No novio. No relic weapon. But my mage jobs have standing sets. My cor has a qd build. +hmp gear. All the valuable +elemental/INT gear to easily exceed resist levels on blm. Etc. I'd post ffxigear sets....but well....yeah.
Having said all that, I stopped doing heavy events about a year ago. Our social shell dabbles in limbus and salvage but most have been gone for over a month now. It's been a bit of a ghost town. So I figured I'd take another look at event linkshells. There are actually a couple linkshells here on Siren (one in particular) that I've done events with that I would love to be a part of. But I've got kids and their events just start too early. Unfortunately that is one thing I can't compromise. I just can't get online until they are asleep. So is there a linkshell that looks something like this out there?:
Playtime: 8:30 pm EST-2:00 am EST
Salvage: a /seacom system or a system where people wishlist their top 3-5 instead of having to pick a set.
Limbus: Omega focused. Homam perhaps sold if the opportunity presents itself.
Sky: No farming. People collect their own triggers and have option to lot any item that drops (or something similar)
Sea: Unfortunately most sea triggers can't be bought so I'm more open to most farming systems compared to sky.
Einherjar: point system. modified point system. /seacom system. Whatever. Not interested in joining a group that cannot clear all tiers.
Dynamis: Tav/xarc/COP dynamis OR dynamis where currency is either a) split amongst members or b) sponsored by ANYONE who has an interest in upgrading. Not interested in farming dynamis sandy 8 hours a week so a sack holder can make 12 Mil profit.
Bv2: items crafted and sold
Ixion/sandworm/etc: Items to ls members who can equip them first, then sold OR sold 100%.
Kings: Not interested in camping kings unless a king camp will NEVER override a scheduled event. If nothing is scheduled I'll gladly go. If einherjar is scheduled I'm not interested in putting that off for 3 hours then starting at 2:00 am.
ZNM: members farm their own tier 1-2 mobs, then gather for tier 3-4. Lotting weight given to those who farm up the tier 1-2's and an equal opportunity for all members to pop their tier 3-4's.
KS: KS99's done frequently (monthly or so)
WOTG: an interest in the orc/yag/qudav campaign ops when all zones of a city are controlled where everyone interested gets to participate even if that means taking rounds off if 7-11 people are interested. Regular box farming and boss fights for the ranger hat/nimues tights/str helm, etc.
If there is a similar long standing linkshell that happens to be looking for members at the moment, I would be more than happy to provide a more complete application etc. I do have experience in einherjar, salvage, sky, sea, hnm, dynamis (pulling, sleeping, and sacing), ouryu, cerb, limbus bosses, etc. I do not have experience with ixion/sandworm as they were introduced after I became a bit more casual in my play.
One more thing. A linkshell doesn't need to do all the events above. I would say that einherjar, salvage, znm, and perhaps WOTG content are my favorite events though, so definitely looking for those.
Lastly, I've been in some VERY high stress linkshells during my 6 years in ffxi. I'm not looking for another ulcer. I can take a good joke (and can dish it out too) but I'm an old man and I'm looking for fun out of this game along with achievement. Basically, if you a dick, don't bother asking.
Can PM if needed.
