Gearing while leveling

I'm wondering how best to gather gear while leveling, but still maintaining a quick pace towards 50.

I've heard that there is a really nice set of gear at level 30 that you can get by doing quests. There are also the Abyss Point sets you can get 25+.

I'm not sure of the ease to obtain any of this gear, but should people be attempting to obtain it while leveling? I do like to keep a decent gear level, but if these things take a long time to earn, I'd probably just skip them and keep grinding.

AH is your friend.
You can probably make it to 50 by greens/blues either dropped or bought off the AH. Quests too.
Abyss gear will take a bit of grinding AP; but if you grind stuff in Abyss (mobs) for like 5 levels straight you might have enough for a piece!

Wait you can grind mobs in abyss for points? I'm sure it isn't much but how much is it generally?

Marchants gear are weak mostly

So low lv quest equip > all

Higher lv it will be abyss > named drops > AH > quest > Marchant

or something like that

13/kill from 26ish mobs.
15/kill from 31ish mobs.
It does add up though, I think a solid 10k of our guild points were from me just killing mobs in the Abyss.
I mean when I was up killing lvl 31 mobs for an hour we got at least 3.5k

Also get AP from Spy quests. A LOT.
And every quest in the abyss gives like 100-500 AP at the start at least.
Repeatable abyss quests give about 200 AP (Again, lower tier ones anyway)
There's a quest that has you kill 26 mobs and you get 200AP from it, so ~560AP from doing rep. quests.

there's also nice solo spots, that will give you 30k exp and 64 AP (if i remember correctly) @lv40ish

Probably about Daevonian Set. It is quite nice but you can only get 1 piece per level 30 character. The whole armor has set bonuses that makes it even better though. If you get lucky you can get it as a world drop too but it's raaare.

To lvl 30, just use shit you find or pick up easily (no point in busting your ass for some rare blue when you'll only use it for half a day). Once past 30 when the lvls go a lot slower, then you should start worrying about your gear. You can get good gear from instances (fire temple has some nice shit supposedly), and you can also get nice stuff from crafting HQs.

Fire Temple gear is a myth! horrible dorp rate is horrible

actually, i've seen ONE gold drop, it was a piece of judgment gear, but it dropped off of one random gargoyle

ive never seen a gold off of kromede

altho, the area is really easy and it's worth it to small-man, so your exp is better + less competition on dorps

you still need alts to get the lv.30 daevanian set but the lv.50 set can be gotten with a single character.
