    Bose headphones

I'm in one of those super leet awesome rewards programs, and I feel like getting some free headphones from it. The in-ear and over the ear phones are both on the radar. I know most people aren't big on Bose due to price, but with that not a factor, do you advocate either of these?

I prefer the in-ears to complement the iTouch(thanks again Andarvi!). I have some Sony Studios that are terrible on the ears, so I'd like to avoid over the ears, plus them Bose shits be huge. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Love,
    Sozsensur

Do you have any non-Bose options?

Because, quite frankly, the issue with Bose isn't the price, it's the shameful quality they have the gall to charge a premium for.

None of their over-ear headphones are remotely competitive, even against less expensive alternatives.

I don't go within a mile of earbuds, so I can't honestly say one way or another if they're good/bad/indifferent, but if Bose's over-ear headphones and speakers are anything to go by, they're underwhelming.

It depends on what you intend to use them for really. My Dad is one of those consumers who believes what they hear and always wants quality, so naturally he bought a pair of Bose that he rarely ever uses, so I've been using them a lot lately. They are a less bulky over the ear kind with noise cancellation. The sound quality is really nice for just walking around listening to music, but I have to borrow my sisters in-ear headphones whenever I want to listen to music while working out which is pretty inconvenient.

I'm not too sure how much quality you lose by going with the in-ear ones. If they are relatively close in quality, and are the type that can ACTUALLY stay in your ear even if you are moving around, then I would go with those for sure. If the quality of the in-ear ones isn't top notch you might as well just have two pairs of headphones. One pair can be high quality for around the house, that will remove all outside noise and let you focus on the music, and the others can be for when you are more active.

If you can find these on your "rewards" thing I'd go for some UrbanEars. I got a pair for $60 on karmaloop.com and they are great. Good sound quality as well. Not to mention they have them in many different colors.

The in-ear from Bose aren't bad at all. They stay in very well when running, and the sound isn't bad at all, though I really can't give a definite, as the only thing I have to compare it to are the standard zune/ipod ear buds.

Only complaints about them would be losing one of the small tips that goes in your ear. Lost both of my smalls, and the mediums are hella big for me.

Quoting for truth. Bose is the most atrocious speaker company.

    I'll agree to this too.

I bought a pair of Bose noise-canceling headphones. A friend ran into me while they were at my side and the shit just shattered. I bought a replacement pair, and eventually the left ear just snapped off out of regular usage.

Both lasted about one year. Shit is absolute garbage. Spend your money elsewhere.

This is actually surprisingly true, despite being a corporate shilling maneuver by Best Buy.

I've tried the Bose earrbuds and that aren't that good IMO. I prefer/have these SONY earrbuds. Tried about 5 others before purchasing these...

PS: Haven't tried the Dr. Dre earrbuds but I assumed they weren't good since the sound quality of the headset wasn't that great IMO.

Sony's build quality for earbuds is...spotty. I've had pairs last for 2+ years and I've had pairs fray/crack the insulation/pull the end of the wire out of the driver housing in less than 6 months. I'm never buying sony headphones again, sticking with cheap 20 dollar buds. Durability matters for me.

A Sennheiser HD 238 Precision would be a wise choice. Its not in-ear, but its quite versatile.

Excellent with iPod, computer and other portable equipment.
