    wooden eyeglass frames

good/bad? spotted a nice pair and was about to buy, then found out it was made of 100% wood... so ya

anyone got one can tell me about it? does it break if you aren't too careful? does the wood get swollen or just turns into weird shapes in moist conditions? waterproof, like rains or whatever? etc etc

    http://www.woodlook-eyewear.com/en/men-collection.html

WL017 on the site, doesn't really say the exact material besides being wood, and i can't really find additional info on the brand (google fails i know) soooo halp?

    thanks u!

ya, that company I linked also has a high end line called "wood & gold" which makes pretty expensive shit

the pair I saw is priced around 250, which is just fine imo, but not if it can't hold up against dirt, sweat, skin oil or yellow cheese

strange of you to make friends with a termite but different cultures so I suppose termites are like having dogs as pets

2,000 dollars for some glasses frames? Ummm...no thanks! I don't care how good they look. I spend 300ish usually on my frames and I think that is far too much. I could always go the free frame route with my insurance, but those things are hideous!

I really should go into the business of making glasses frames. Two sticks of wood on a hinge? That'll be $2000 please.

Ugly is the new hot, embrace your inner hipster.

Also, how are these frames being made of wood any worse environmentally than the oil used to make your plastic frames, or the mountains leveled to get the ore to make your metal frames?

the rocks obviously don't have the Gaia spirits that'll one day repel a giant planet-crushing meteor

they don't look bad but it's something that I'd never wear personally. especially if the nose bridge is metal, since I have a nickel allergy.
