Stop locking threads in X-server.

There's a lull in activity as usual between updates, it's not like we're being flooded with lurkers who would disprove of our exploitation of fag-o-tards for our own enjoyment.

Some things I get, np, but if Stephano can't be banned under the "General annoyance" clause of bannable offenses then clearly the skewed favoritism as it pertains to which rules to enforce and which to ignore is becoming more and more blatant.

Bottom line? It's an ongoing warning. He's made it a point to be an openly public figure on BG of his own accord, nobody here did it for him. As it stands his acceptance to shells on Cerberus is still pending, therefor the warning is still acceptable and warranted.

You've been getting lock crazy for a while now with no clear purpose. It's time to cut the shit, really. It's your job to keep personal info out of warning threads, banning the trolls, and preventing people from causing drama in recruitment threads. A warning is required, maybe not to us, but to lurkers, for as long as his applications to linkshells are pending.

Also, I STATED in the thread the warning was valid. Locking a thread doesn't make it not valid. Everyone can still go see it it...If I thought it wasn't I would have graveyard it.


Lastly, I posted there that if there was actually new info you could pm me to reopen it.

But so far no PMs. I'm not against reopening if there's actually more things to warn about.

The point is that, "lolhaidate," 10 pages more of the same, or otherwise, there was no legitimate reason to lock the thread. His actions had not been finalized, opinions on him by prospective LS had not been fully formed (as can be inferred by a few posts in the thread) and most importantly: nothing fucking else is going on around here.

I get that you're trying to keep the place a bit more "fag friendly" or whatever, but there's a line. FFXI news is going to be sparse for another 3 weeks. VNM are already old news. Synergy? Hah. While it certainly is not the greatest topic to be made in the past few months it is without a doubt entertaining and thusfar relatively drama free.

Overall I'd say the topic is completely benign. You wanna weed some posts that are clearly only troll fodder? Fine, no problem. Your arbitrary decision about how much "fun" we deserve to have is what I find a bit ridiculous. I mean, can you honestly defend your decision to lock at 10 pages versus 5 pages? Versus 3? Versus 300?

There's no standard for the decision. There are many violations, but none that can't be snipped out while retaining the integrity of the thread for the lulz of the many. The overall point is that admin, moderator, or otherwise, the forums are going to go to shit if everything becomes an arbitrary decision that can't be held up to any level of scrutiny.

7-8 years into a game I, personally, think that somebody willing to risk their reputation over stealing a gem from a mob that literally any job in the game can solo at level 74 has forfeited the benefit of your pity. People are generally fucking stupid, the only thing that prevents further stupidity is if people feel that the end results of their stupidity outweigh the possible benefits. You're highhandedly determining how much is enough for x action, and how much more is enough for y action. A decision I don't think any of us as individuals have the right, or should have the gall, to make.

Leave it open until he returns the item, retreats from BG in shame, is accepted to a linkshell, or the thread dies on its own over time. That's the fair and responsible thing to do for all parties involved, including us gawking onlookers.

Well it gets retarded sometimes as there should be more guidelines for admins/mods to follow as it gets annoying when they force their subjectivity on a matter that is clearly pointing another way.

I was almost permabanned on the spot (was given 4 infraction points that were reversed) because "someone" decided that saying ps2 compatibility on a ps3 is a time paradox if they want it under warranty.

If there is no negative action taken against people that like to flex their power as their penis nor negative feedback allowed in plainview (for transparency) then the same negative behavior from those "people" will occur more frequently. It is rediculous how bringing light on some subjects result in the individual getting punished or scrutinized.

This reminds me of a funny story with Leaulien of Sylph as an Elvaan Male PLD and Keilana( I think thats her name) of Sylph as a mithra whm
