    Dual Monitors + Full Screen Gaming help

    Ok

    Basically my problem is, sometimes I'll move my mouse too far to the right (Left monitor is one playing the game) that it'll go off the game to the other monitor and when I click, the game exits full screen as if I alt-tabbed.

    This happens more when I'm playing the game at a lower resolution than the native resolution. I have to play L4D on the lowest resolution, and it happens a TON there and it's driving me crazy (especially since when it happens, it's normally when I'm surrounded by zombies and flailing my mouse around)

    Does any one know of a fix? Force the cursor to stay within the game or something I DON"T KNOW HELP PLEASE AHHH

    if the game is actually "Full screen" and not windowed/maximized than it shouldn't happen.

    What Boyiee said;

    Make sure whatever game you have open isn't full screen or make sure it has no protection for multi-tasking.

    What game?

    I assume you mean is full screen, not isn't?

    They are set to full screen. I'm not sure how to make sure about the no protection for multi-tsking though, how do I do that?

    Happens a ton in l4d(2), happens in TF2, and happens sometimes in Counter Strike: Source and Wolfenstein: ET.

    I'm don't remember if L4D1 has it, but I know L4D2 has a Windowed (No Border) option that you can set to whatever resolution you want (including the desktop resolution which will make it appear fullscreen). Doing so will make it so if you do click out of the screen (shouldn't happen unless you alt+tab) it won't minimize the game, just change focus.

    Not certain about the other games, but even without Windowed fullscreen, most fullscreen games are able to keep the mouse cursor locked into the game so I dunno.

    Problem is my video card cannot handle a higher resolution than the minimum for l4d. So I can't play it in windowed mode+desktop resolution.

    I've been trying to find anything through google, which has been hard since most things i find are in regards to people WANTING to be able to click outside of the game and it not minimize. I've only been able to find one other thread at another forum where a few people posted about having the same problem and the response there was more or less the response here: It shouldn't happen. Specs are different, different cards, different brands, ect. Only thing I could find was to disable second monitor which I want to avoid doing :\

    You can try to use a program called CursorLock. It's worked for me for a couple games. Tutorial for steam games can be found here

    Why not just play it windowed at the windowed resolution? Could always just stretch to fit after that if it not taking up the full screen bothers you.

    You can't stretch it to fit. And playing in a 640x480 window on a 1280x1024 resolution makes it incredibly hard to see and aim.

    2 screen gaming is rather awkward. you'll find out what i mean soon enough i suppose. 3 monitors; however, is where it's at.
