A friend of mine recently purchased a small college bar. Soon she's closing for a couple weeks to give the place a facelift. While the bar is closed she wants to replace the outdated TV's and sound equipment.
To give you an idea of the place it is not a huge dance club. It's more of a laid back bar where people go to binge drink, watch sports, and party. Music is generally classic rock, fun old music, or top 20 depending on the time of the night. The music is played through a laptop using either itunes or winamp so nothing fancy.
The bar itself is long and skinny (think of a rectangle or the shape of a Semi-truck container), estimated dimensions are 55ft long x 17ft wide x 10ft high in middle/8ft at edges. There are TV's at the 4 corners of the bar, and 2 speakers sitting at opposite corners. What I'm hoping you guys can help with is recommended sound equipment.
Currently, the mixer that pushes sound from the laptop & TV's to the speakers is a small Peavey PV6. http://www.peavey.com/products/brows...%26reg%3B6.cfm This mixer was purchased a few years ago in a time crunch after a drink was spilled on the previous one.
So, in short, what do you recommend speaker wise for a bar that size and should the mixer be upgraded?
Secondly, she's looking to purchase 2x 32' LCD tv's and 2x 26' LCD tv's that will mostly stream sports 6-8 hours a day, have you seen any for killer prices?
Thanks in advance!
