Buying a PC in the UK

Im looking to buy a new PC in order to be able to play FFXIV. I have only ever bought a PC for general use, office, internet etc..

I am just wondering if there are any hidden gems in terms of buying gaming PC's, i only have a small budget of around £600, but only require a tower, as i have a decent display.

Just looking for some suggestions of good places to buy from, thanks.

Overclockers do a few bundles, as well as sell stuff individually if you fancy a 100% custom build. Not sure how the prices compare to other sites though.

You can also look up components then use ebuyer to find the best deal.

Thanks for the suggestions, ive looked around a bit and seen some, what i believe to be, good deals on dell, ive found one inparticular.

With this one it says i can upgrade to the ATI 1GB graphics card for £20, would that be worth it?
Also, how do Intel Quad cores compare against I3-I5-I7 processors?

    thx again.

Might struggle to play FFXIV on 5450, it is an entry level card not really built for gaming. It performs below the current min spec as well.

That CPU is between a i3 550 and i5 750 (both at stock), but being a branded prebuilt PC you probably won't be able to overclock it at all meaning you'll lose a lot of ground.

i5 750 is really the minimum you should get nowadays.

If you want a custom build try: http://www.cougar-extreme.co.uk/

Their service is excellent, they will tweak the PC during setup (overclocking etc) took them about 10 days to build and deliver at Xmas (arrived dec 23 wow) and they have great phone service. My tower was around £550 including VAT and win7, plays wow comfortably on high resolution and ff14 beta at a reasonable level (hoping they tweak 14 settings a bit more though lol cause it's not ideal). Bear in mind this PC is 7 months old now so you should be able to get a more current pc for 14 within your budget. To be honest though I would leave it till August to order for 14.

Both are cool, slight personnal preference to the i5 but technically both builds are the same.

Good deals! Both would be about $750 USD which is pretty reasonable.
