    Dual 5770 or 5870

    See topic?

Basically for gaming, I already have 1 5770, so at this point its 150 to buy another. Or around 300 for a 5870 if I sell for 5770 for 100. I already have the mobo / PSU / CPU etc to run everything.

oh bout to say.. cheapest 5870 on new egg was like 369.

look @ some crossfire charts then make your decision? Dual cards sometime can be iffy.

Get a 5870, then in a year or so buy a second when they are substantially less.

Antec 900, what were the benchmarks for FF14 like with it.

    Edit: The 5870 that is.

The only reason to get the 5870 now would be for futureproofing, 5770s about break even performance wise at boths max OC. If that's worth the extra coin to you, go for it.. single GPU solutions are always better. If not, you're not losing anything performance wise by getting the other 5770.

The performance increase from adding another card quickly tapers off. Plus you a dealing with still unperfected technology. Plus you are dealing with 2 cards that are taking up two slots and putitng out twice the heat.

5870s are like 11" long, so make sure your case can handle it. (Almost positive that a 900 can though.) I'd definitely get a 5870 and sell the 5770. Yeah, it's a little extra work in terms of getting one sold and buying a new card altogether, but it's worth it. If down the line, 2x5770s aren't cutting it, you'd have to sell 2 cards and get another one. At least this way, you're saving yourself from the hassle. Not to mention that when/if you do ever need MOAR, then Xfiring 5870s will be cheaper (assuming ATI -ever- drops prices...) and will increase performance by a wider margin.

Get the 5870 I have a reference XFX HD5870 I got for 250bucks on ebay guy said it was used for benchmarking and XFX gives a double lifetime warranty (meaning you can sell it to someone and that person is covered.) Works amazingly.

I also have the antec 900 and it fits nicely but I had to take the black thing off the middle hard drive bay (honestly don't think I had to but I still did just to free up some room.)
