Trying to expand functionality

Trying something fun with my system, and need feedback from the community...

Ok, let me start with my system specs:
64-bit Win7
i5 650 3.2ghz CPU
8 GB DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB DDR5

If you need more lemme know.

My task at hand is as follows, I want to install Ubuntu as the main OS, and I want to run windows and OS X as virtual machines and swap between them. My questions are:

Will 2 VMs run with my current Memory?
If not how much more should I install?
Should I upgrade any other Hardware?
Will OS X run on a VM thru linux on a Non-Mac Machine with little issue?
Can Apps be installed on a VM's OS and be run soley from that VM?
Recommended VM software that plays nice with linux OS, Ubuntu?

Sure, it may be excessive, but hey the future is now, and this is fun to do.

I'm pretty sure you'll be running into a lot of issues trying to use OS X, unless it's some older version perhaps idk. I'm not sure what you're planning to use your system for, but I also don't think there are good video options for VMs, not that I've seen at least when I tried a while ago. Meaning that it'd be difficult to game on the windows VM.

yes, apps can be installed and run totally seperate on the VM only. in fact, i don't think you can access it normally without running the VM. i haven't been keeping up with VM tech lately, so correct me if i'm wrong :s

Yeah, I hear leopard doesn't play well with any hardware that's not Mac specific. The general purpose of me creating the VMs is to be able to play with those OSs and learn them from one system.

I did manage to learn how to use Virtualbox today and install linux on it, but I suppose unless I go and buy a Mac I am not gonna be able to learn how to troubleshoot it.

Hell, I am even considering upgrading to win7 Pro since Microsoft will sell it to me for 30 dollars. Then I can play with the tools offered in that OS, unless someone knows a way to get a cheap win7 ultimate.
