I would imagine it's like FFXI where you'd need another account if you want to dual box.

If you register two XIV codes to one SE account, when you log in it gives you a choice of which one to log into, and you can dual-box like that(I do)

You can add 8 Final Fantasy XIV account in a single SE account.

But if one gets banned, all others are as well.

This also means any other XIV accounts on the same SE account will get all the same promotional items.

Probably the preferred route of husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend combos. I'm curious if you could somehow separate the accounts after the fact? Start your friend's game on your SE account, get him the items, then move the game to their SE account? Sounds unlikely, though.

ya the more I think about this, the more it pisses me off hubby and I didn't do it in the first place. Maybe when we come back one of us will remake a character because that would make paying for two games cheaper.

I think you are misunderstanding (or I am). It is 1 SE account, not 1 FFXIV service. I have my SE account with my FFXIV service registered and my items. If a friend put his FFXIV codes under my SE account we could both sign into the SE account and choose our separate FFXIV services to play. He could not create a character under my FFXIV service ($3) and have us both be on at the same time and also which also means that the promo items wouldn't be shared because they are tied to the FFXIV service and not the SE account.

I thought the XIV promotional stuff was registered to the SE account as a whole, and not to the individual XIV services. I guess I'm wrong about that?

I am fairly sure that it is tied to the FFXIV service as you have to choose the FFXIV service to view everything associated to it.

Maybe I was thinking under the assumption that the "FFXIV Service" part I was picking to get to that stuff was just a general XIV section where numerous accounts would be under. Hmph. Scratch that then.

I can confirm that all 14 accouts do NOT get all promotional items.

I went, wut? at that too when my 2nd account didnt get onion helm or gauntlets.

You had to enter a code that came with first-shipment copies of FFXIII.

Don't be jealous, though. The gloves are only good (great) for Rank-1 through Rank-10. They pretty much turn into shit at Rank-11

I think you had to enter the code you got from inside the FXIII box on the Square Enix Members site, which generated a different code to enter in your Square Enix Account under your XIV service. You can re-check your Square Enix Account and see all the services that are active under your XIV service... it should list every promotional item code that's active for it.

Didn't want to start a new thread. Is there a way to dual box ff14 on the same PC? I know there's a windower out for it but it wont let me have two FF14 programs active. I tried google but i cant find a software for it and since people on here are saying they dual box then there's something i don't know, thanks.

Dual boxing as in...dual boxes...i.e. two physical computers.

I know of no way to currently run two clients on the same system, and I tried dozens of things.
