I've never really paid attention to event rewards before. However, I think I remember being able to buy event rewards instead of questing them (like the yukatas maybe?). When an event comes up is there an npc that sells all past event stuff? Like can you buy valentines stuff during summerfest? Or is it just the current event stuff you can buy? Don't want to wait until next september for a polearm that nin can equip ;/

Pretty sure MNK + WHM can do just about anything. Maybe have the WHM/DRK for stuns.

Decided to help a friend working on Masamune get some Carabosse pops. We were duo BLU, and literally did so many Baba Yagas (something like 14) that while farming pixies for pops in between, we capped out amber and got the KI from a gold chest before a single KI dropped from her. The kicker is, we went 3/3 (had a third guy come out for a little bit) on Liege.

Is she normally this much of a stingy bitch, or did we just have really bad luck?

What do people do with their old gear that is quite useless now but also somewhat hard to obtain. Ace's helm, bloodbead ring, af2+1's etc etc. Is everyone else out there just throwing it away?

I duoed it last night BLM/WHM+BLM/RDM. We did manawall and then nuked him. He has a lot of HP, but idk if he has movement speed. Casts Graviga, which makes kiting hard. You can't Gravity or Silence him, but he Stuns fine. We were BLMs so we just knocked him out before he could kill us and stunned anything that looked painful. I think I used an Ether or two to keep Manawall active. He paths like a tard through the trees between his pop spot and conflux 6.

Put in in storage if you have room for it and don't want to toss it, otherwise toss it.

2 questions. 1) Magical Crit hit rate, It's my understanding the Eradico Mitts increase your magical Crit damage, but in order to get a magical crit you have to be wearing a piece of gear that has that attribute. So if this is the case is it worth sacrificing any piece of gear (cognition belt for Witch Sash) to have access to Magical Crit?
2) What exactly is "Enhances Cumulative magic effect" from AF3 pants?

1. no, you do need access crits inorder for that to have any effect, but outside of gear you have a 10% (i think) chance for a crit when using the same element as the day/weather.

It probably depends if it's situationally outclassed, or directly outclassed.

Something like Ace's helm, all 3 jobs that can use it have empyrean +2 helmets which have 6% haste and better stats than Ace's, so I would toss it. Aside from sentimental value, it's never going to be relevant again. Bloodbead Ring is another that's just plain beaten, get Meridian if you really want to keep a HP+ build and toss Bloodbead.

Something like E.body, which is beaten now, "could" make a comeback outside of abyssea, barring the inevitable Empyrean bodies that will destroy it.

many things are avaliable at npc's at any time if you have refered a friend who still plays. both people need to be there to access the items.

I recently made the move from PS2 to PC, so I'm still used to controlling some aspects of my gearing directly. I have a few "Groups" that basically just affect my TP gear. One is for DDing, one is for Subtle Blow (basically just Hoard ring -> Heed iirc), one is a max Evasion set, and one is a DD set that tends towards Evasion. My in-game macros are something like

Line 1: /ma "Dread Spikes" <me>
Line 2: //sc group "DD_Eva"

Title: Evasion2
Line 1: /ma "Dread Spikes" <me>
Line 2: //sc group "Eva"

Title: TP
Line 1: /ma "Reprisal" <me>

If anyone has a nifty way to stop the red text from showing up every time I change groups, I'd love to hear it. Also, the "Tanking" one was basically the same as my DD TP set, except with Heed ring I think. Then I stopped updating it because my Eva_DD set was fulfilling its role.

Anyone know if Scherzo has some level correction? I was thinking that level 40 red mages would be essentially invincible against normal mobs with it up. 400 HP, Scherzo would probably proc on normal hits (300+), and Phalanx would absorb most of that damage. Something would have to hit them for 8000 damage to one-shot them.

About this, does shzerzo work with manawall? If so, you could totally survive back to back fudos from failure while keeping hp low enough for scherzo to work on normal attacks~

In the context of a Leaden Salute build? Looks pretty good with the dark element attack major on it...I was just talking about it in that context
