All i know is that we have gotten a few complaints about the movie standee already. Seems older folk don't like an image of the white house burning down.

Disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped inside the White House in the wake of a terrorist attack; using his inside knowledge, Banning works with national security to rescue the President from his kidnappers.

So this looks sort of like "Air Force One" crossed with 10 years of Xenophobic Nationalism. Seriously, it doesn't look bad but there's a scene in the trailer where a plane crashes into the Washington monument and all I can think is "Wow, they wouldn't have gotten away with that 10 years ago".

Is it just me? Am I stupid/crazy for thinking that?

Somewhat more akin I'd say to the first Die Hard if any of them. Terrorists take over a building. One bad ass guy goes after them.

Had to try really hard to get over the whole takeover sequence and the general incompetence of any American that wasn't Gerard Butler. Oh and

But beyond all that it was a fun action movie. I am a sucker for the one guy covertly takes down a whole group while trash talking the bad guy type movies.
