Another DRG question, Dark Mezraq or Grand knight lance? 7acc vs evasion down
Another DRG question, Dark Mezraq or Grand knight lance? 7acc vs evasion down
I'd go for grand knight lance, since it's acc all the time vs some of the time.
Is there a better headpiece for Dark Knight other than AF 1(Until Askar/Ace's/Walahra Turban/Black Sallet)?
optical hat.
Patroclus's Helm
[Head] All Races
DEF: 21 STR +2 Evasion -5 Haste +2%
Enmity -5
Lv. 60 WAR / THF / PLD / DRK / BST / BRD / DRG
Hidden Effect Enhances "Arcana Killer" Effect
or
Voyager Sallet
[Head] All Races
STR +3 DEX +4
Lv. 41 All Jobs
Voyager nice for 2handed cus of the dex/acc, then ws in af1 with the extra str and SE, IMHO with that haste, I like the P helm for TP.
6-hit with Hachiman kote and sune-ate, or Haste+6%?
And what order should I do my job specific SAM merits in?
Was thinking Overwhelm(lv.3?) > STP > Med > Finish Group 2.
assuming Walahra turban, Swift belt, Byakko's Haidate, and Haste spell:
~1612 Delay for 5-hits after WS in '6-hit' build to 100tp
~1856 Delay for 6-hits after WS in 'haste build' to 100tp
Using a Hagun the 6-hit build should shine most; something like an Onimaru and they're probably pretty close I'd say.
I hit 75 and meritted thusly: 1 storetp to allow a 6-hit using usukane feet and hachiman hands, then 2/5 overwhelm, 8/8 GKT, 5/5 STP, 5/5 overwhelm, 5/5 med, finish group 2
I would tend to use the 6% haste setup until I had more merits in store TP.
(this is especially because) if you have a rajas, you can also use sword strap for an additional 3% without sacrificing the 7 hit build, so you're really looking at ~9% ish. (~ because it will vary depending on how much haste you have already etc)
which while it still won't balance out the delay, does mean that you are hitting quite a bit faster and the individual swings will serve to close the gap more.
sam merits i would do, if i did them again from scratch:
- store tp until you have a 6hit (assuming hagun or another 450delay GK and doing hachiman hands/rajas/brutal for TP it'd be 4 merits).
- 1 in shikikoyo, it's not a huge deal but before events/BC fights giving TP can help a lot.
5/5 meditate
8/8 GK if you choose to do it
3/5 overwhelm
1 in blade bash
finish 5/5 overwhelm
put 3 more merits into blade blash
Sam is blessed with great cat1 and 2 merits, really can't go wrong anyway you do it though
Hissho Hachimaki or Shura Kabuto +1 for Asurans Fist?
I'd say Hissho for meat, Shura for sushi
Hissho Hachimaki or Usukane Somen for Blade Jin?
Vsallet with sushi/madrigal/lower eva targets, Hachimaki ~ Somen for higher eva/meat are both functionally close enough.
wait sooo.........
If I eat meat, I don't need STR+ but need the ATK+.
BUT
If I eat sushi, I need the STR+ and not the ATK+.
please explain and let me quote...........
And a link for spyre cause he's a damn nublet!

Asuran go Acc > Anything since you can't land all the hits more than 3/5ths of the time or so without capped acc during WS, sushi or not.
Aurik has a good point, WS mods only really come into play with high fTP mod+high TP+high attack+high Str situations. Yeah they ALWAYS have some effect, but if you're sacrificing nearly anything to try and add 1 or 2 more base damage during WS, you're missing the point generally.
Worry about mods when you can't add more damage with acc/att/str in that slot (Genbu's Kabuto vs anything but Nhead for Steel Cyclone, for example), or when you're maxed out on those three (rare, but it happens, 2hr buffed out zergs for example) and just trying to eke out another few points of damage.
about the only time I'd recommend seriously considering weaponskill mods over attack is for sam's on y/g/k (esp. pre fstr cap) and only because the wsc mod is so stupidly high. (a typical sam is getting slightly better than .8D per point of str added, most other jobs are lucky to get .3 per point for non-str stats).
remember too that by 75 you're only getting ~83% of the wsc mod to begin with and that all the fractions are floored and suddenly you need 5+ of a stat to even see a change in damage.
Which is why Str mod wses are so delicious, but also cases like I was comparing the other day, Taru RSE2 vs Nfeet, Str +4 Vit +4 vs Str +6, the RSE2 win even when the 2 extra Str bumps you up an fStr over the RSE2, as I recall.
which weaponskill are we talking? that seems.. unlikely if you're getting another fstr out of the deal.
(for 4 vit at 75 to be >1fstr by itself - no attack or str based wsc applied) the mod would need to be at least 33% and it would have to be a favorable situation for flooring on the part of the overall vit (that is, the 4 vit would have to get you '2' points). to guarantee it, you'd need a mod of at least 61%)
although I guess steel cyclone (among others?) falls into the > 33% range.
