luffy tried to go diving to fish out some supper from the on-board aquarium, but that was clearly sea water and immobilized him. The only freshwater interaction I've seen was Water Luffy vs. Crocodile. And he was fine being completely full of fresh water, but that's slightly different.

That was Tony and it was at the Red Line when they just met Caime and the starfish. Oh and they do get weak if they are underwater but swimming they are fine.

These weigths are clearly compressible. 1 ton of iron = ~0.5 cubic meter, meaning they are most likely empty or something.

I'm thinking that it would make sense that it's only sea water that makes the DF user a stone. I have no basis for this other than the way they talk about kairoseki having the power of the sea in it which is why it restricts DF users. That may just be a romanticized name though.

According to Oda:

Oda stated in SBS that Devil Fruit users are susceptible to all types of water, not just seawater. He elaborated on this, saying that "moving" water, like rain or waves, does not weaken Devil Fruit users, while standing water does.

Oda keeps making this arc's direction a mystery.

Apparently there is a mistranslation in the chapter. When Camie says there are people stronger than Hodi she is actually saying that he is not just strong but has a dangerous mind.

I'm guessing they might have just fallen in some sort of trap.

I like how they're subtly showing how much stronger the Straw Hats are (e.g. Zorro fighting with one sword, Luffy beating throwy-fishguy while tied up).

Woah, I wasn't expecting to see any manga for at least a month with all the drama happening in Japan right now.

Glad to see Oda didn't fall into the normal trap manga writers fall into and constantly introduce new powered up enemies to keep up with the main hero's strength. Always becomes zzzz after that. If the pills they take give them enough strength to fight on par with the strawhat pirates, I expect them to take no less then however many it takes to reduce their lifespan to <10 minutes!

Semi offtopic: More related to the current anime ep rather then the manga, do you guys reckon blackbeard's plan included the war between the whitebeard pirates and WG? It seems his plan was to free up those 3 prisoners from Impel Down rather then to actually steal Whitebeard's powers. That opportunity just seemed to come by and he decided to take advantage of it while busting out the prisoners.

Edit: They put up a better translation up on mangastream. Worth a re-read.

I concur, really fun chapter and I like that there's a lot of story to be uncovered still. The fixed scanlation is posted on mangastream for those wanting to read it.
