Trigger Support for Wireless 360 Controller

Ok, so I did search around on the site regarding this and back in July in this thread, http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/tech/...ter-issue.html, there were a few links posted to a supposed Japanese driver that allowed the triggers on the wireless 360 pad to be made into digital buttons. However those links don't work any more.

Any one know of any way to get the triggers to work, other than a way that involves lag? Also, if I could get rumble to work as well, that'd be cool. Thanks!

    Success!

So after some extensive searching I've found something that works perfectly. In fact, in the thread I mentioned above is where I found my answer. Although that web site didn't work for me, I did take note of where it was trying to send me. I played around with the url and it took me here: http://x360wc.tripod.com/index.html.

I downloaded the appropriate files, WinXP for me, and followed the terribly translated instructions. Follow these steps to get the triggers working as digital buttons on Windows XP using a Wireless Xbox 360 controller and wireless adapter.

    1. Open up Device Manager
    2. Scroll Down to the Xbox360 Wireless Receiver entry and right click it, then select Update Driver.
    3. Choose Install from a list or specific location.
    4. Choose Don't Search.
    5. Click Have Disk
    6. Click browse.
    7. Locate the folder where you downloaded the files and choose the X360wc.inf file.
    8. Click Open.
    9. Click Ok.

At that point it should install the driver. It'll point out they're not digitally signed just click to continue with the installation. Then you can open up FFXI Config and set the triggers where you want them. I would recommend going into Test Gamepad to make sure they're working. Also of note, there is no lag when using the triggers for the macro keys. I haven't had time to play around with it long enough to discover if Rumble works as well, but if any one figures out, let me know.

I've noticed that there have been several questions regarding this issue, and if some others can try this out to verify it works well all around, maybe we can get this thread a Sticky for future users.

I had seen that post while searching for an answer to my question on this site, but, unless I'm mistaken, the XBCD drivers only allow wired Xbox 360 controllers to use their triggers, not Wireless controllers. The method I've explained is for Wireless controllers connected via a wireless adapter only. I tried using my Play & Charge connector and using the XBCD drivers, but was unsuccessful in that endeavor. So this is more for those out there who might already own an Xbox 360 with a wireless controller and wants to play FFXI on their PC with that controller.

I don't know if you didn't read the OP or not, but yeah. I mentioned the same post you did. The links in that thread no longer worked so I posted a link in my 2nd post to the site that did have working links for the drivers you mentioned. I also explained the poorly translated directions in my 2nd post for the sake of others on the board. That was the point of my thread, to find a way to get trigger support for wireless controllers. Just so happens, the site you linked to in that July thread did in fact have the answer to my question. It just took a little manipulation of the url. I simply explained that in this thread. Any thing else you would like to point out that I've already mentioned?
