Has anyone picked up those abilities that "increases the influence of *STAT*"? I've already bought the 2 trainings I wanted, and I just hit 10k guildmarks and was thinking about picking it up for my goldsmith.

I think the training that helps with nuggets is worth getting too, especially when we start playing with mythril and gold. But maybe it's not a priority. I can't comment on the stat things.

I've noticed that the number of marks you get seems related to the rank of the leve in the same way battle leves are. I just got 1270 for handing in a rank 35 leve. I get so many 450-750 mark leves (in the rare times I get marks) and they're probably from 20 and 25 leves.

Would be great if you could post all of that. I don't have too much data for r35 leves, definitely need more. Although I need everything, not just r35s etc.

I've not seen that thread before. I'll try remember to post in future. Unfortunately I can't post the 35 because I can't remember how much gil or performance rating I got and it has since scrolled off my log. >.< No point posting it at all because it won't fit in your graphs.

Sure, not saying about that one particular leve, but just pointing you there for the future What I suggest is keeping a notepad instance open and just alt-tab to it after I finish each leve, no matter what the reward. Whenever you get a decent number, just dump it into the thread.

But it's important that you don't be selective about which leves you post. If you're only posting marks leves, or leves of a certain rank, etc it's going to bias the data. So either post all, completely random, or nothing

It's my lucky day. I have done and turned in four local leves today. All four have given me marks, totalling 2476. That's like 3750 in the past 24 hours, after seeing none for a week.

Since you mentioned Iron Needles I'm assuming you're talking about Blacksmithing.

I'm not personally that high yet, but I've seen many crafters around those ranks doing Ornamental Iron Hammer Heads, takes loads of fire shards though, but I don't know if there are any better options, could try if Iron Awls and Iron Chaser Hammer heads give good skill ups or not.

What are some tricks to causing HQ? I just had some crazy rank 50 goldsmith HQ a Rank 48 axe for me on my one and only attempt. Did I just really luck out here?

More quality = more hq chances so 2 way to upper your chances, do sone bold synthesis and with the rest of the durability use touch up

Yeah. HQ appears to be a probability thing that can happen at almost any quality rating. I've had an HQ with quality in the teens and only 1 HQ in 10 synths with over 500 quality. The assumption is the higher the quality, the higher the likelihood. There are certainly other factors which are still being considered and tested.

I just can't possibly imagine my luck was so good that I could get a +1 Rank 50 weapon basically x_x I mean if we compare this to FFXI we're talking like a 1% chance. I get the feeling that crafter had a few tricks up her sleeve.

+1 in FFXIV isn't the same as +1 in FFXI. If that crafter had +3'd your axe, then we could talk luck.

Hmm alright. Well I read +1 is a 5% boost to the star'd stats so it's certainly a nice bonus.

Actually each star is a +10% boost to the stat, floored. If the stat is less than 10 I don't know if gives you a +1 anyway or not though.

Brass Rings. And if you're failing too much at 21 Brass Earrings.

Have you seen the amount of shards silver wire and silver plates use? I'm not sure that's the best way to skill armorer lol.

I had a friend turn them into plates for me and made chokers. I made chokers from 20-24. only problem is they don't sell as great as I would like. Lapis sell far better than other types.
