Hello! Let’s all tread together the treacherous path of the final day of the work week joined by some great music!
Legacy
With reports/rumors that Konami is stopping AAA console game development (except for their soccer game, PES) I started thinking back to their great days, when seeing the Konami logo in a game meant that it was very likely that the game was good and/or fun. I mean, I bet that at least one of your favorite SNES-era games began with this:
Castlevania IV is one such game. The first SNES entry in the classical franchise, it was a joy to look at (jumping from 8 bit sprites to 16 bit sprites in a game like Castlevania IV was absolutely incredible at the time) and the soundtrack was excellent. The song above is the song that plays in the first level of the game - an awesome and pumping introduction. The entire game is filled with BGMs that sound great and fit the Gothic Castlevania vibe. The final levels have remixes of old-school Castlevania themes, which seals the deal as one of the best games of the SNES era... and it was an early one.
Now excuse me while I go cry and get filled with nostalgia thinking of the developer that once was, and the games (the Contras, the Castlevanias, the Metal Gears and many more) that will not come back.
Game on.

Good times that will never return.
