Rockman Online teaser (korea only?)

This is a teaser video for the upcoming MMO Rockman Online. Confirmed only for Korea at this point, it's a 2D side-scroller with RPG elements. The video seems to show the first rise of Dr. Wily as a villain with the original Robot Masters. But then we've got a bunch of Protoman and Bass, plus Iris and Alia -- X series characters. I just don't know what's going on.

And it'll probably never apply to me anyway. For some reason, there's a perception in the east that Mega Man isn't popular in the west. Maybe that's actually true and I'm an exception along with all the other Mega Man fans I know. That's possible. I have slim hopes of ever getting to play this and that makes me sad.

I... don't understand? Mix of Classic and X, not to mention Korea as the only confirmed country.

Capcom mentioned it a while back, supposedly it's Korea only and has no connection or bearing to the actual timeline. I don't think Capcom is even directly involved in the development, given the design inconsistencies in a couple of the major characters. Would've liked to have seen some gameplay clips on that trailer though.

It's probably going to be some sort of crappy 3rd person Korean WoW or RO clone. Unless Capcom actually sticks their hands into it, in which case it'll probably turn out like Monster Hunter. I always wanted to see a MM MMO, but I don't think this was quite what I meant.

Speaking of MMU, I wish they'd show some actual gameplay footage from that already, I'm dying to know what exactly it is, seeing as they mentioned it's an online game and you can pick whichever version of Megaman you like the most.

Why exactly is this an MMO? Looks pretty fun, but I just don't see the reasoning for it to be online. Unless I am missing something, haven't really read much news about it.

After watching the gameplay, I still don't see how this is an MMO lol. I guess lobbys where you can trade and join games of 4 like PSO...

Or maybe there's persistent worlds that, when you go into one of the levels, you'll find up to 4000 other people in there. Depending on time of day.

I just hope that the boss of a level spawns more than once every 21-24 hours or it'll take forever to get your fire/ice/tornado/cutter/whatever upgrade. I also hope that weapon upgrade drops from bosses are 100%.

We'll find out in a few years what guilds in this MMO come out at the top and how well geared they are, or if they're still wasting time on old content trying to get a 1% drop weapon off one of the earlier bosses.
