HDD testing software

Was looking for a program to test HDD to see if they're bad or not. Didn't see any listed in the program thread and the manufacture only has a problem that is meant to be ran from a diskette... which i do not have. Thanks in advance.

There's a bunch on a free boot CD/DVD I have called Ultimate Boot CD. It doesn't work with AHCI though;
