Discovery Channel Seeks 'Chief Shark Officer'

Now here's a job offer you don't see every day: the Discovery Channel is seeking a "Chief Shark Officer" to promote its iconic Shark Week coverage.

The job offer was posted on the channel's website on Tuesday. It calls for a "fun-loving, fast-swimming personality to be the first ever Chief Shark Officer for this year's Shark Week."

The job requirements are a little out of the ordinary: the "CSO" must love exotic locales, "buff bodies in bathing suits and having the bejesus scared out of you," and will be called upon to swim with sharks and attend fabulous Shark Week parties. But just in case potential applicants were worried about the dangers of the job, the offer assures that they will be provided with "lots and lots of insurance and some great dentistry, naturally."
