I am getting my bachelor degree for the job for the people ABOVE YOUR PAYGRADE, I am TELLING you what the problem MOST LIKELY is, and you treat me like every other fucking person out there. Which wouldnt be bad normally, if I was working in tech support and I had some guy telling me how to do my job I'd still walk him through all the basic shit. Except, you know, my lovely probably going on 50 page ticket history now that SHOWS that this is a CONTINUING problem and that you are fucking retarded. How many fucking times have I had to sit on the phone and restart my router/modem/laptop just because you fucking said to? My modem SHOWS me that it's connecting to the router just fine. I can SEE that it's NOT getting a connection from YOUR side. I can get to my router EVERY time. The next jump after MY side that I would logically try to get to next would be the DNS server, which I cant get to so something between me and you is down. Because it lasts only 5-10 minutes (usually, sometimes it goes on for up to half an hour) it looks like it's either something routinely going down or some sort of configuration update issue. I've even confirmed that I lose upload connection and then 30-60 seconds later lose download. It really honestly looks like it's some sort of configuration issue, as if there's some sort of routing table update or SOMETHING that happens, I couldnt tell you what exactly because I dont have the layout of your network. What's probably MOST infuriating? I actually got to talk to a NOC engineer instead of standard tech support and he was trying to tell me that the routing table only updated every 24-48 hours. Not the backbone router, the actual router closest to the demarc point. That's a fucking load of bullshit if I ever heard it. An edge device would update it's routing table every 45-60 seconds. I've never heard of a reason for an edge device updating it's routing tables every 24-48 hours, that'd be WORTHLESS. You expect me to believe people have to wait 24-48 hours for an update on your end? That's al oad of garbage and you fucking know it. Then he tries to quote CURRENT up device statistics, yeah that's great, me knowing that 97.3% of devices connected to that router are up. That tells me jack shit about what happened TWENTY minutes ago when I had LOST connection, the connection dropped for about 7 minutes and I had been on the phone with you for another 10 minutes after that at this point, when I say it's a configuration issue probably causing congestion that's going to be TEMPORARY (like my problem almost always is!) and go away real soon. Fucking come on. I've called in how many times about this, and you still cant figure out a pattern, that's so fucking bullshit. If that happened at my previous places of employment where I was doing tech support for, yes, thousands of people, not as big as you, but still know what I'm talking about, that NEVER would have flied with my manager when he saw my ticket close rate. That is fucking ridiculous, over 30 calls at LEAST over the last 12 months and not a single one can be closed out as RESOLVED?
