You should look for one without 3D, cause it sucks and is a waste of 600+ dollars.
It's actually around 300-350, 500 with the Nvidia bundle included and is supposed to be pretty fucking awesome even in 2D mode thanks to the 120hz refresh rate. I honestly would love to get one but don't have that kind of cash to splash on luxuries right now.
Then spend 300$ over the next 2 months on Excedrin and Tylenol for the chronic headaches just to switch back to 2D mode.
Save your money. Right now there is just not enough content out there for 3D. You would rarely use it.
3D won't be a viable format until they can figure out a way for people to watch without glasses.
Personal taste then. I'd rather have CRT like smoothness and being able to play with vsync off without huge tearing in 2D mode (assuming it isn't an old ass game and I'm getting over 120 fps), and having the option to play in 3D mode for games where judging depth is important, then the 3D stops being a gimmick like it is for movies, and actually becomes useful and can enhance game play.
I play 2 feet from my monitor so 30" would be too big. The point is, a 3D monitor isn't necessarily a waste of money depending on what you want it for.
For what you're paying for one of those 120hz monitors you can get 2-3 nice ASUS 23in monitors. Just sayin surround gaming > 3D gaming for the moment. 3D gaming isn't where it should be so there shouldn't be a rush to jump on it. ;o
Also, theres so much utility out of having multiple monitors.
- Increased resolution by combining the them.
- PS3 on center screen.
- 360 on right screen.
- Windows on left screen.
- Remote work on right, game running in center, browsing/chatting on left.
I don't know how I lived with just 1 for so long. Multitasking like a fucking bawce.
mostly i play WoW and starcraft2 for now atleast.. and i have 27" plasma screen which i love so much :D
but still i really wana experience the 3d game and movie
I love my 3D TV (50 inch) for movies and video games. As much as a gimmick as it may seem, it adds a much appreciated level of depth of stuff that I really like. Now I dont think I'd go shell out 3d TV money for a computer screen, but for an actual TV i think its worth it.. especially when you consider your only spending like 500$ more for 3D, and if your alrdy spending 1.5k+ for a TV then its worth the extra money to add on 3d
Where are you seeing an nVidia vision pack with monitor/screen for that price? Everywhere I'm googling (including nVidia's own site) has it pegged at $600+.
Oh wow... The prices went up then. Thats crazy. It was like 350 with glasses when I was considering getting 3 120hz monitors.
