I forced myself to be patient and beat it on first try- with a fairy. Camera spinning around so much still pissed me off but I suppose that's intended.

    Gerudo Fortress here is I.

I'm guessing you're a dark souls fan and that game is a bajillion times less forgiving than OoT. youre playing it on Nintendo DS huh? That may be why it's a little frustrating

My girlfriend Who's the huge Zelda nerd (our cat is named Zelda) says she thinks the problem I'm having with the game is I'm expecting too much from it. Like combat is super simple but my mind thinks it isn't, and the puzzles are super simple but I overthink too many of them.

    And yeah, 3DS.

I'm getting there. I'm going to keep going and not take another 3 month brake between the next dungeon. I think that keeps screwing me over too, since i kwep forgetting everything.

I defeated Ocarina of Time. It was easy going with the spirit temple and Ganon's castle. I suppose I'll try Majora's Mask now.

It was a dark time for me evidently lol

Though i still say the game just hasn't aged very well in some aspects.

There are 3 things I remember about Majora:

    Toilet hand
The trial and error ridiculousness of acquiring the couple's mask
The hilarious look of end boss

Had a sudden craving to play some Skate 2 yesterday. Undusted PS3, hooked it up, played the game. Still the best god damn skateboarding game there is, eight whole years later. Shame the sequel's campaign/map was crap compared to it. Surprisingly still people playing it online too.

I could never trust EA to do right by a Skate 4 given they killed off the dev studio that made the series.
    Spoiler: show
Can't believe Skate 2 is god damn eight years old already. Where did the time go?

I should give that game a chance. I have been wanting some THPS action for awhile.

Speaking of old games, been playing Bully:Scholarship Edition lately. This game really needs a HD port or something to fix some of the drawbacks (Wonky camera controls and the cursor feeling slow beyond all hell for Biology classes)

Skate is more of a simulator'ish take on it rather than arcade funtimes like THPS, but it's what I love about Skate 2, although it has a learning curve and somewhat annoying characters.

I need to get back to Bully. bought it on Steam years ago, but it's fucked on modern OS (sounds are all buggered + crashes last time I checked), got it on PS4 recently which is an emulated PS2 copy, just haven't put that much time into it.

On another game, beat Day of the Tentacle without referring to a guide. I was expecting it to take me forever since I usually get stuck on stupid puzzles for awhile, but that only took me 9 hours according to my save file.
    Spoiler: show
Then I proceeded to replay it with developer commentary on and cleared it again in 90 minutes. Was kinda fun critical pathing it once you know all the puzzle solutions.

Think that just leaves Zak McKracken of the SCUMM line of LucasArts games for me to beat.

Strange, my PC is modern and I haven't had any crashing issues. Though some voices are digitized (though I think that might be a byproduct of them missing a few when they enhanced the scholarship edition for 360/Wii).

And yeah, Day of the Tentacle is an amazing game. I love the humor the game provides.

    Spoiler: show
    "Damn that Doctor Fred!"
"Hey she knows the Edison family motto."

Bit of a necro, but I'm surprised no one is really talking about Hollow Knight. If you're looking for a "metroidvania" game, I'd say Hollow Knight is definitely one of the best games in that genre to come out in a while. It even incorporates a bit of the Souls system, where you lose your money when you die, but can reclaim it by killing your shadow that it leaves behind.

It's a decent length too. I think I'm almost done and I'm a little over 23 hours in.
