Joining ffxiv help

Hello i am currently getting ffxiv around september 10th. I used to play ffxi and did alot of endgame situated events but i am not looking for that sort of group just now. I am more looking for a friendly group to help me get started and to socialize with. Since i have not started the game yet i am okay with joining any server and any time zone related group. I hope that there is a group out there willing to help an old ffxi player through being a new ffxiv player

This isn't a troll post I promise, and I didn't want to start a whole new thread just to ask. Is this game worth playing yet?

Rycho - Figaro Server. Linkshell - Viva Ezorea is a good social/leveling linkshell on this server. Then after you've leveled up you can join up with Magitek Legends if you have the skillz!

AidenCarby - it's deffinitly much better than before, and with the upcomming patch 1.19 adding chocobos, more raids, airships etc it is diffinitly worth playing or if anything giving it a chance since it's still free to play monthly.

People still have mixed feelings about this. A lot of progress has been made (with even more coming between now and the end of the year). It's not going to feel like a massively different game at this point, but many of the rough edges have been smoothed out. Be warned, there are still things that need work, but the game is only getting better.
