I was pretty gung-ho for this expansion at the start, but lately i've lost interest in it slowly. Not sure why, really. Pandas don't bother me, in fact I like 'em.

I for one love the idea of not being able to fly until lvl 90. It should definitely make questing and such a whole lot more fun when you actually have to go explore places with a chance of danger, rather than just pointing in the right direction while flying and going afk for a bit.

I don't think they are doing a good job selling this expansion, but then again, I don't know what they could do to sell it. After 8 years, anything they show us is just going to be more of the same.

What catch my attention generally is the story, and this expansion feel more like a themed park than anything. Hopefully, they will prove me wrong, but it still feel like a filler with no meaningful impact in the warcraft universe.

I still hope N'zoth will show up or something, because panda, trolls and old ruins are going to get boring really fast.


The one gameplay mechanics I'm interested to see is the timed dungeons. It's going to be fun to push our skill in 5 men group.

Flying is great, but when you don't get the chance to explore the world with your 2 legs, it lose some of its charm. I'm glad they are doing this.

Considering their recent methods of building hype for Diablo 3, as in "Hey guys, dont get your hopes up, this game is a 3 out of 5 at best" the hype machine for MoP has been very....lacking if at all. Maybe its backlash from all the hype they threw out for Cataclysm and how terrible the expansion turned out, and they don't want that backlash again, but I agree with Guitarman, the more and more I wait on MoP the less and less I am interested. I loved everything we heard about in Blizzcon and the things coming out for pvp and such..but in the back of my mind i'm saying "Hey that sounds amazing...but it wont work out like that" because that has been almost every expansion. Blizzard tells us something, hypes it up and hypes it up, then we get it and its a shell of what we expected and usually not even what Blizzard promised (resi will fix it yo)

It's still in alpha, NDA not lifted yet, it is still pretty early for them to overhype it. Everyone and their mother will be in the Beta thanks to the diablo 3 deal, they will hyp it when the time is right.

I was really excited for this at first, it even got me to stupidly do the annual pass. But after DS dragged on and on, I just lost all interest in WoW along the way. WoW basically turned into what FFXI did for me. I will always like the game and prolly always be able to find some enjoyment in it, but, on the other hand, I'm also over it and don't see myself ever going back.

Granted I am excited for TERA and GW2, and I think GW2 will be the new mmo for me... but even if GW2 fails (for me) I still don't see myself going back to WoW. Even if they add new features, its still the same basic thing and 5-6 years has been enough for me.

I think DS kinda did it for me though. It's such a terrible raid and DW was not epic at all. Maybe the first 2 platforms were fun, but then once you realize your basically repeating the same thing 5x w/minor differences each platform. After TBC and Wrath last bosses being so epic, I was really let down

The whole annual pass thing is such a bad attempt at clawing back sales for that crappy period between the last patch of the previous expansion and the following xpac.

I'm sure I'll give the expansion a shot but GW2 will almost certainly be released first, and that's where my interest is nowadays.

It was due to everything Blizzard was saying "oh pvp will be the best it has ever been, the talent system revamp is going to be amazing and new, the zones will be like never before, yadda yadda yadda".

I agree though, the hype machines on both sides of the aisle are to blame, though it's getting out of control with a lot of games. GW2 hype machine makes it sound like it's the second coming of Jesus riding C'Thulu.

Something like the talents tree re-design was obviously not going to have a huge impact on the game. I personally think it was a improvement, but it's not like it would be game changing.

And yeah GW2 hype is stupid. People who are going to play it thinking it's the new best mmo will be let down for the millionthth time, even if it will be a good (possibly great) game.
