Warhead is better than Crysis and I am kind of pleased they are able to reduce the quality to fit in on a console now.

Personally, I always thought the only big thing about Crysis was its graphics and wasn't as well known for it's game play. Not saying it was bad, just not as great as others. I'd like to think I'm not a graphics whore but a bit let down that it is reduced.

Warhead and the first couple levels of Crysis were a really good time.

I LOVED both Crysis games, some of my favorite FPS of all time. Definitely looking forward to this one.

@OP, lol, you bought a PC now for a game like Crysis that won't be out for a while? You know that the card you have probably won't do jack with CryEngine 3? =P

When Crysis first came out I had a real shitty computer that couldn't really do much and I kind of fucked it up w/ viruses. So I decided to mess around to try and get a good enough computer to run Crysis and other games near max settings and I am pleased to finally had the chance last year to play Crysis and Warhead when it came out.

Yeah I'm sure a 8800GT probably wont do well once 2 is released so may have to upgrade then.

    Finally some new info.

The supersuit-enhanced cat has officially leaped out of the bag, folks -- Crysis 2 will be set in New York City. According to a "World Exclusive" Twitter image of the next PlayStation: The Official Magazine's cover (partially seen above), the upcoming sequel plans to give players a chance to blast off the faces of "aliens invading NYC," employing the already teased "Nanosuit 2.0."

As the Crysis 2 cover is set for the March issue of PTOM, we expect to start hearing more details on the sequel over the next few weeks as subscribers start getting their copies (and subsequently begin filling the internet with said details).
Much as I hate New York being the center city in games it will finally be in a city setting to destroy stuff. I don't really have high expectations for it until I see gameplay of buildings being demolished or something to that effect.

    edit: apparently I can't spell

Um, Crysis 1 and the expac were freaking awesome to play, graphics or not. The game got lame when you started getting toward the end and the badguys started to...change.

After getting some printed publicity in numerous magazines, Crysis 2 previews are now finally starting to get published online. GamesRadar has put up their 'first look' article that contains interview bits with executive producer Nathan Camarillo, CryEngine 3 tech talk and 18 early work-in-progress screenshots of this CryEngine 3 -powered Crysis sequel. The preview was first published in Xbox World 360 UK magazine, released just a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to crysuki for the link!
    Nathan Camarillo on Crysis 2

"We decided to pick New York as it’s one of the world’s premier hotspots; it’s a very important place for the entire world. In general, a city offers more opportunities for vertical gameplay than a jungle; the player can jump between different floors, jump on buses, on trucks, in craters, and from one building to another. The player is much more mobile in a city playground, and can change his position more often. They also have a lot more freedom, as they can plan or attack someone from above, and gain an advantage."

"Crysis 2 is a sandbox game. In contrast to the common sandbox, Crysis has borders and a world that extends beyond those borders but – just as importantly – we go into more detail within our play space too."

"I think the freedom of Crysis 2 will surprise console gamers. Crysis is not about ‘go anywhere’; it is about looking at a situation from a great vantage point and then formulating a plan that you proactively initiate to defeat your foes. You have a lot of freedom in what that plan entails, and what weapons and world interactions you use. This is what we’re calling Veni Vidi Vici gameplay: I came, I saw, I conquered, and it should be quite fresh to the console market."

"the challenges [of this generation of consoles] have allowed us to avoid overdesigning features, to keep the focus narrower and tight for a compelling experience on all platforms. In the end this will make for the best experience for the gamer, because we will spend more time per feature, making it more polished, rather than spreading ourselves thinly just because we can. Creative constraints can be refreshing."

    ...on CryEngine 3

"It’s an all-in-one solution; AI, physics, networking, multiplayer, audio and high-end effects are all included within the engine and built solely for CryEngine 3."

"The big challenge during the development of CryEngine 3 has been scaling the engine whilst maintaining visual quality and performance. This is always challenging; problems occurred, of course, but we’re really proud that our teams have managed to solve them."

Crysis was already enough of a slideshow on my PC as-is.

Hoping the console renditions aren't dumbed down too much as my preferred platform would be PS3 as things stand. My PC is at the point where it's just cheaper to buy an entirely new gaming rig, and it'll be a long while before I get enough funds saved away to afford one.

Put me on board for loving the gameplay. I felt powerful yet still vulnerable. It's not often I'm hooked in my seat playing a game start to finish, although in Crysis' case it was an unfortunately bloody short title. So much fun stealthing about during the night missions, I only wish there were
    Spoiler: show
more encounters with the enemy dudes that had nano-suits
, but perhaps I get more of that in Warhead, have yet to beat it.

Speaking of Warhead, what time does it take place exactly compared to the first?
    Spoiler: show
It seems to step back a bit during the portion of Crysis where Nomad and Joker split up for awhile to go on different objectives before you rendezvous with him (well, not) later on when they try to chopper you out of the mining location with the aliens
    .

Watch as 2 teams of 6 go head-to-head with the strength, agility, and stealth that only a Nanosuit can offer. Beginning January 25th, you too can team up online and Be The Weapon in the new Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo exclusively on Xbox Live.

I bet there is going to be a lot of rage once people see how different Crysis 2 campaign will be from Crysis 1. I firmly believe it will be consolized like crazy. It will be very CoD-ish I think.
