Popping Sounds

Ok so this is driving me crazy. Sometimes I hear popping sounds when I listen to stuff. Not really on like youtube vids, but definitely on winamp and other music listening stuff. This isn't a headphone/speaker issue, it is heard on both. Even people that can hear my pc sounds through some connected dealy can hear it too.

My question is, what the hell do I do to fix this? This is seriously annoying and drives me insane. My sound card is SB Audigy. I got a sound card a while ago because of completely different audio problems.

close out all applictions one by one til you find the one causing the pops. not enough info to troubleshoot until you do that

Weird. After testing with a bunch of programs, this mostly seems to happen on winamp and a few others I use a lot. I guess my pc isn't as much of a flaming piece of crap as I hoped.

Is there any way to fix it? Is it just some weird codec thing? While testing, for example, I didn't hear any on Audacity this time, but I know for a fact I have in the past.

It's not just winamp. Music in FFXI does it too, pretty much everything does it, it's just more common with winamp and some other programs I use.

No it's my headphones too. Other people that can listen to stuff on my PC via internet connections can hear it too.

theres a chat bar on the side of the dark souls wiki that has popping noises when people say something. figured it was worth a shot;

reload your sound drivers

Have you tried pulling out the soundcard and going off your motherboard audio for a bit to see if it is still there? Would isolate the card as the problem if everything is fine then.
