PS3 Login Error 8071053D? - psn maint today

So PSN is having a network maintenance today. If you're like me, and don't, you know.. read stuff.. Don't panic if you get this error code.

Should be up by 5 AM Monday EST I believe it said.

That "significant" PSN maintenance that was originally scheduled for last Thursday (and subsequently delayed) is so totally happening tomorrow, scheduled to start at 3 PM Eastern and expected to last until 5 AM Eastern the following morning.

All users will be automatically signed out, and all PSN services (including online play, the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management and official websites like the PlayStation Blog) will all be offline and inaccesible. Thankfully, last Thursday's delay gave us time to prepare an Extended PSN Maintenance Survival Kit, which is essentially a Rainbow Brite lunchbox full of beef jerky and Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law DVDs.

I'm still baffled as to why PSN gives a numbered error for maintenances rather than saying "Hey, having maintenance from X:XX-X:XX".

They even got that news ticker thing they never use to give heads up also, they just assume everyone visits the PS Blog, or a site that's reposting the info.

The answer is easy to give that message you need to connect to PSN, but PSN is down for maintenance!!! it's a vicious circle!

This. A hundred thousand times this. I'm actually just as baffled as to why they feel the need to take the PSN down so often, can't they find a way of updating it or changing something without taking down everything?

If you download the new version that's up currently it changes the error message to a maintenance message not that it matters.

This maintenance actually started Saturday for me. Couldn't log in worth shit, wound up having to reset my router and all that other nonsense not knowing what the hell was going on.
