Audio cuts out and TV Blinks playing FF 13-2 on PS3

This may possibly be a weird coincidence, but here's the issue. Randomly while playing FF13-2 on my PS3 the audio cuts out for 3-5 seconds and then the tv blinks and everything goes back to normal. Also has a nasty habit of doing it back to back. The weird thing is that it only seems to be while playing FF13-2 as we use the PS3 for netflix and never get this issue.

    Setup:

32" Samsung 1080I LCD (this thing is 5 years old) with 2 HDMI Ports. Port 1 is my speaker bar sound system, port 2 is my cable box, the ps3 is going through the hdmi port on my speaker bar

Has anyone else run into an issue like this? I hope to god my tv isn't dying as I can't afford a new one right now.

if its only happening with FF13-2 odds are its not the TV. Anyways in my old fat ps3 the HDMI port started to go and that lead to sound cutting out from time to time. Check to see if the cord is screwed up or maybe the HDMI port is(on the ps3/TV side)

but it sounds like it might be a software glich or something if its only with FF13-2

Yea, going to keep an eye on it. Might be time for a MvC3 marathon this weekend to see if I recreate it on another game. I checked the cable and it's looking good, don't have a spare to swap with right now sadly. I should have mentioned as well it's an 80gb fat (mgs bundle) so hoping to god it doesn't die either.

My PS3s (an 80GB MGS bundle and a 160GB Slim) both have the video cut out on occasion if I'm running through my receiver. No other source device I've tried does it, so I'm fairly sure it isn't the receiver, and I've tried 5-6 different HDMI cables as well. This is doing anything on them. XMB, playing CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, games, Netflix, whatever. In my case the audio doesn't cut out at all though. I've seen other cases of people having the same issue, but never a solution for it.

For me, they work fine if connected directly to the display, whether my TV, Playstation 3D Display, or a couple PC monitors I've tried. Did you recently start using the sound bar? Could be a similar thing.

Nah, had the sound bar for about 14 months now, and only recently started doing this. Put in about 80 hours between mvc3 and arkham asylum and never saw this before.

My roommate had an issue with Netflix through his PS3 that sounds similar. It turns out the HDMI cable was ever so slightly loose in one of the ports (I forget which). Jam that bitch in there on both ends and see if it clears it up.
