RNC does whatever it takes to keep Ron Paul from being nominated from the floor of the convention.

The Crime of Maine, like those of other states, is designed to make sure that Ron's name cannot be placed in nomination at RomFest.

It's a little more complicated than that. A lot of the maneuvers that Ron Paul's supporters were doing to get delegates were pretty illegitimate also.

Why do the libertarians keep running for the republican party if this stuff keeps happening to them?

Not sure. If they broke off from the Repubs then they could easily become a third, new, party. It only takes 5% of national votes to get recognized and treated to the laundry list of official party benefits.

Wouldn't an unwinnable yet relevant enough party like libertarian create a democratic deadlock on the POTUS? Most of the libertarians I encounter tend to think that the fiscal side of their dogma is more important than the social one.

It also helps that Ron Paul isn't a libertarian at all.

You are all assuming that the money that comes from both the Demos and Repubs and their special interest groups won't bury this type of shit anyway.

It should be no surprise that none of this sees the light of day.

Im curious when this story aired...

Because i remember hearing earlier in the week that the RNC and the Ron Paul supporters on the whole had reached an agreement when it came to seating the delegation and were even involved in writing the party platform.

Ron Paul would be a GOP nomination that would actually make me nervous. That said, he's racist as hell so he'd probably have as many black supporters as romney, so that game wouldn't change at all.

Dems should be encouraging this shit, tbh. A major Libertarian party would schismatize the right-wing vote into religio-tards and conspira-tards instead of the united front they have now.
