All Worlds Maintenance (Dec. 10)

At the following time, we will be performing maintenance on FINAL FANTASY XI to accompany the version update. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XI will be unavailable.

* This maintenance will be accompanied by a version update. After maintenance is complete, the update will automatically begin after you press the "Play" button. After that, please follow the instructions on the screen.

* The World Transfer Service will be unavailable starting 30 minutes before the maintenance. Please wait until after the maintenance is completed before attempting to use this service.

* You may receive errors such as "POL-1160" or "POL-0010" during the download process due to heavy server traffic. If you are unable to access the update, we ask that you please wait a while and then try again.

Of course it's the 10th. I took the day off (my bday) and figured I'd sit on my ass and play FFXI all day, something I haven't done in a couple of years.

You would think they'd just release one package for each platform so they can skip the "For XYZ Expansion" business and save on deployment time. 5-6mb difference, not worth the effort.

They've actually finished on time/early for like the past several updates, as I recall.

Granted, last time Meebles needed like 10 different maintenances afterward but at least they only took down the related areas and not the entire game when they did that.

updates only been 2 hrs now since not long after the creation of the test server.

why would the test server affect how long patch maint should be? Test server shouldnt only affect how many post-patch maintenances there are.

When SE released the test server, they said it would help to limit the time that maint took because it could be tested before hand, instead of having to patch, then test, then bring the real servers up.
