So I rarely play PS3. I bought my unit in 2010 and have never had an issue. I decided to give Ni No Kuni a whirl tonight, put the disc in, and everything was fine (saw the opening screen, had the options to select languages, etc.). As I clicked the language options, it began downloading requisite files as stated in the manual. I had friends come over during the download process, so I turned off the TV in my bedroom while it downloaded.
Two hours later, I come back, turn the TV on and it's just a black screen. Restart PS3, nothing happens. I do the double-beep reset per some instructions on the internet and it's still black screen. This is using an HDMI hookup; I do not have the old RYW connectors (but I can grab if I need to).
Has anyone run into this and fixed it? Right now I have all cords unplugged and am letting the system chill out as some people said that made it work after 10 minutes or so.
As more info, it has been working as a Blueray / NHL 2013 player in our family room for like a year. I just switched the console to my room tonight so I could play while my roommates watched TV, and that's when the issue started. I doubt the cable is the problem; weird situation.
EDIT: So I unplugged the TV AC cable and I got the violin start-up noise for the first time. Still no video..
EDIT 2: Delete thread. I honestly have no idea what I did other than unplugging random shit and replugging it in, but it works now.
