    Tough Mudder

Sup BG. Hasn't anyone done Tough Mudder before? I am about to do the GA 2013

Mudder. I'm pretty stocked. Going with about 8 people from my company (army)

including the commander. Ready for this!

So how about it? Has anyone tried it or willing to try it, or are actually going to be at the GA Mudder? Its promised to be the Muddiest Mudder of the year!

I haven't done it, but if memory serves me that was the one my friend thought he broke his sternum doing last year. He and his oldest son had a blast though and I believe they are doing it again.

Me and two of my friends did it last October. It was pretty sweet! It was tough, but then again, I did it after having a cold for 2 weeks so my stamina was shot. Still made it though. I'm pretty sure you will have fun. The electrical wires weren't something I was fond of, but other than that all of the other obstacles were fun! Unless you're short, like me, then the Berlin Walls may require some help. I loved the way everyone was so willing to help. It really was cool! I hope to do one again soon! Good luck

Also, you're in GA? Are you stationed at Benning btw?

I plan on doing one of these next year; I'm doing at least 1 (already registered), possibly 2 (if I can get people to commit for the 2nd) Warrior Runs (5k instead of half marathon) this year to prepare.

Horse loves the slop. He eats it up, born to love the slop. His father was a mudder.

I did the 2012 Tough Mudder in Poconos Pa. Absolutely loved it. I went with a group of 8, four of us wanted to run the course, other four enjoyed the experience. My start time was around 1pm and I found myself either waiting to go through the obstacle or being stuck behind people who weren't running on small trails. If you want to run to get a good time, go earlier in the day. I found myself in good shape doing a mix of strength training and running, but only going a max of 8 miles at a time for training. I completed just fine but as I said, it may have been due to catching my breathe at the obstacles. So depending on your intentions and level of training, you should be ok.

Only thing I can recommend is if you have a heart condition, skip the obstacles with electricity. After completing the crawl through mud/water under electrical wires, as soon as I got out, a guy touched the wires and immediately seized. Medics cut the electricity and dragged the chap out. One of the more "Holy shit" moments in the entire race. Otherwise I had a blast with a good group of friends before/during/and after the race. Definitely a must to experience.

I'm signed up with a co-worker & some randoms for the 'Boston' one in Gilford, NH, on June 1st.

Excited for it! Seems like a lot of fun.

Might also try signing up for some of the other races (warrior dash, spartan race?) later in the year.

We aren't going for time, only because we have a few females who aren't soldiers, and trying to keep us with us guys is not going to be easy for them. We are just going to cruise and enjoy the event. Our start time is at 940am, I don't expect us done any later then 1230

I'm doing Mudder this year or next whenever it's in AZ, but I did the Run For Your Lives Zombie 5k mud/obstacle run. Was awesome as fuck, would really recommend it.

I went as the photographer when our group did it in California Diablo Grande and this one picture sums it up. Its pretty bad ass and not to be taken lightly.

Their group name was the Mudder Fodders.

Just remember: This is not a race. It is a challenge. With that G'luck to ya.
