    Watching anime in japan?

This seems to be a bit trickier than I thought it would be. I'm currently in Japan staying with a host family for a month. I want to watch anime, since most shows are nearing their endings. However there's only one TV and four children so it's a bit hard to catch stuff as it's airing.

Does anybody know what methods I could possibly use to actually watch some stuff? I'd download subs, but I'm worried about troubling my host family by using their WiFi for that.

If you have an external drive, you can go download whatever you want at an internet cafe to avoid any potential problems for your host family.

Ah, that's a very good idea. It's funny how it's infinitely easier to legally watch anime in the US than it is in Japan. I suppose how much cheaper manga is makes up for that though. I need to remember to buy the shokugeki no souma volumes; volume two should be out in a few days.

    http://animecalendar.net/

It lists air time and channel for each series listed.

Not sure if this is what you were looking for.

Laws on downloading are stricter than you may think. I am in Japan and I am not downloading anything -- ANYTHING. . . stick with streaming. http://torrentfreak.com/anti-downloa...-today-121001/

Most worthwhile anime are on at retarded times any ways, like 2300-0200 Friday through Sunday.

Nah, it's about as strict as I think, lol. As for streaming, any recommendations? I tried to be legal and watch stuff on crunchyroll but crunchyroll is not available in Japan.

So I found one advantage Japan has when it comes to Anime. Movies. I watched the Steins;gate movie with a friend yesterday and we both understood probably about 80% of the movie. It wasn't until after that I realized pretty much everybody else hasn't even seen it yet, and most likely won't see it for another ~6 months.

I liked it. It wasn't as awesome as the series, but it's definitely worth the time spent watching it.
