A lot has changed since 1.0, you pick a job, level it, switch when you want, level it, and do whatever. Now that there is a little more "structure" to the game, what's the best way to utilize it?
Essentially you're free to do the same as 1.0. You can change jobs whenever and level it with varying options, but it seems like there is an optimal way to do this. Correct?
Now with quests/missions assisting your way through the levels, it's best to make use of them, right? Also, the ability to do rested XP, and that differential XP from the highest level job.
So.. what is it?
Since really this is a question I have, I'll just use my situation.
I'm planning on going BLM, but that means I have to level ACN and THM, right? Didn't they remove ARC being one of the needed classes? ACN has to be 15, THM 30?
So in theory.. get ACN to 15, switch to THM to 30, and then BLM to 60 (is 60 still the max?)? But when you switch from THM to BLM, the level of BLM doesn't actually start at one right? How does that work? Does it start at 30 and increase from there? What about THM? Does it's levels increase along with BLM?
Leves and FATEs are great ways to level, but making use of the general quests (non class specific)/missions, what is the best way to use those? At what level do the quests stop? What level do the missions stop? Do these go all the way to 60, or not yet? If not 60, then the best way to level is Leves, Finders, and FATEs? If I do all the missions/quests in LL, can I go to Grid or Ul, and do all the quests there from the initial "this is how you attune to a crystal"? Or does the game know you've done that tutorial quest and unflag it? Same with missions, can you do the very first missions up to the point where the three stories supposedly merge? (I haven't reached this point, so not sure if they do or not).
That brings up another question. If the missions do merge, when is this? Is that a good point to go exploring the other city-states and start up their missions too since seemingly you have to start traveling to the other places anyway?
Obviously each class has there own quests, but only a small handful of them.
What about crafting? When is the best time to do that? Are these typically harder to level since you cant do FATEs with them? Are you stuck doing logs and random synths? Is it maybe better to do the general fetch quests any class can do on a crafting class?
Do you want till one job hits 60 until you level anything else so you can take advantage of that level difference XP bonus thing?
What about the stat points you get once you hit 10? Do these points carry over to every class/job, or does each class/job get their own stat allocation?
So after a wall of rambling.
What say you?
Does this bring up any more questions? Any additional input? What's the most efficient way to play FFXIV?
