Possible obvious question: Is it worth it to get a newer wireless USB wifi adapter?

I have a 7 year old linksys wifi usb adapter and I've been having issues with sluggish internets. It may seem obvious to some, but I'm not sure if wireless adapters like that affect much with connection. So I'm asking if it would be a substantial upgrade and quality improvement to get a newer one?

Only happening on your PC and no other devices?
Theyre like 15$, buy one to troubleshoot. Worst case you have to drive back to the store and return it if the issue is still occuring.
Can always reformat.

I can watch twitch TV stream on this gen 1 ipad with little interference, but on my PC it is constantly buffering I guess at medium quality.

Twitch isnt a good base to judge this, use other things. Recently twitch has been doing massive server overhauls and people get random buffering when they should not. One solution I'm aware of is if you are looking at an embed (not on twitch itself but another page that has twitch embedded) is to use the pop out from the twitch page. This mainly affects people in Europe to my understanding though.

Another thing you could try is maybe change the slot. If you think it's because the USB dongle is roughly 7 years old so it wouldnt be so bad to replace it for 15 dollars just as a safe bet. It's a fully depreciated asset by this point <_<
