I haven't read or watched any of the books/movies. my daughter is finally old enough to read them, so we're reading them together. She wants to watch each movie after we read each book. Will the movie spoil anything from future books that way? I don't want to finish book one, then watch movie one, only to have it spoil shit from book two or three or four, so on, etc.

tyven is correct. The movies, for the most part, follow pretty damn close to the books.

Out of curiosity how old is your daughter? The later books deal with what's basically a war and the consequences thereof. Would she be okay with that do you think?
