I personally am looking forward to this. From the trailer it looks like they are being pretty faithful to the novel.
great movie, adapted it really well, and pretty faithfully from what I recall (read about a year ago), would definitely recommend it
Wifey and I are going tomorrow. Can't wait!

Never read the book but throughly enjoyed the movie. Visual effects were amazing.
Great movie that does a great job of sticking to the books while not being boring. Exactly the right things were cut to keep the movie moving and fun. Great for older kids too, younger ones might be a little bored though. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

The score is 95%/97% on RT right now. I'm going to try to go see it tomorrow.
I read the book a while ago, my kid(11) started to read it, I thought it came out next week because I challenged them to finish it before it came out lol.
$33.1 million domestic take on opening day, which is the most for any non-franchise film release in history
I adore the book, and for a movie I wish were three times as long they did a fantastic job keeping as much of the spirit intact as they could. A couple of thoughts:

Seriously, I thought this was super well done (a near impossible task IMO) and a 150 minute movie could never encompass everything that made PHM what it was. I'm looking forward to watching it again.
10/10 adaptation
Loved the book and the movie nailed almost all of it. I can't believe how engrossed I was especially since I knew what was gonna happen
Went in blind - never read the book or even watched a trailer. I enjoyed it.
The only real "wait really?!?! lmao" part to me (heads up - this is not a spoiler) was when my wife pointed out immmmmmediately that Grace loaded the centrifuge wrong in such a way that no person who has ever used a centrifuge would ever do, which was pretty funny given how sciency the movie is trying to be.
not watching the trailer is definitely a plus imo, the book is also told in the manner of the movie with you finding out with the character what all is going on, etc, and the trailers spelled out damn near everything, and showed off stuff that (going into the book) I was not expecting. I get why for marketing you can't have a trailer that's just a confused Ryan Gosling, and obviously they want to sell people onbut all the foreknowledge definitely makes it a different ride,Spoiler: show
Just got back from it, is fantastic.
enjoyed it very much. havent read the book, just enjoyed the martian (movie) and like ryan gosling in pretty much everything
At least he used the pipettor correctly. There was this one show they didn't use tips and aspirated straight into the shaft. Minus $600+ for a messing up a precision dispenser. I lost my shit lol.
Movie was visual eye candy. The theater really pumped up the volume so that was a bonus. I would have likely enjoyed it more going completely blind. Overall, good adaptation. It's impossible to have the book version of the twist in film media.
Is the book worth reading if I've already seen the movie? Is the twist a big deviation?
No deviation.
