    PS3 Worthwhile Games

I know we've had quite a few of these in the past but they're never updated. The last one 10 pages ago still only has like 5 games on the OP. Also the PS3 is well past its climax so it's much more complete. Here I'm providing a list given to me and figured I'd post it here on BG. I know there are some non-exclusives on the list that would be better played on PC, but they're still great so I kept them. Games with ??? are iffy I guess? There are a few JP games on the list that are great if you're into that series but I assume require little to no JP knowledge at all to play? Are there anymore JP games that fall in that category?

Lack of Katamari Forever is making me sad, as is the Ratchet and Clank series.

And I would suggest using PC for Xcom. Enemy Unknown plays OK on the PS3, but Enemy Within has some bad bugs. Maybe halfway through the game, it is likely that your game will stop loading and corrupt your save file. There are ways to get around it, but it requires deleting the update that fixes other bugs, trying to rebuild your ps3 drive, then reinstalling the update later on. Was much less hassle to pick up the game on steam.

Warhawk was pretty fun for a while. But I'm sure there isn't an online community for it anymore. And I never even tried the sequel Starhawk.

Could arguably toss in the themed Musou games as a general category. The Gundam/One Piece ones are pretty enjoyable... as much as a Musou game can be I guess lol

    On other platforms:
    Kingdoms of Amalur
    Borderlands
    Lollipop Chainsaw
    Killer is Dead

    Exclusive:
    Puppeteer
    Little Big Planet

    Iffy:
    Hyperdimension series

I'll add more as I think of them. Bold, I strongly recommend.

Personal recommendations and stand out games that you should play as soon as possible? I realize a lot of games have found their way onto steam, so I will only include the ones I think are truly worth the time.

Valkyrie Chronicles is a great SRPG with a good voice cast, throws a unique twist into typical SRPG playstyle, decent characters and a mostly enjoyable storyline.

Tales of Xillia is worth it for just the insanely addictive combat, this is probably the cutting edge of their action RPG series combat, Graces F also follows this trend and I highly recommend.

Resident Evil REmake HD is a must buy, do not miss out on this. Play Normal mode and prepare to feel helpless, unless that is you already played it lol.

While on the topic of remakes, Zone of Enders II, Okami, and Shadow of the Colossus/ICO are all must plays, again if you haven't yet.

I noticed Persona 4 was mentioned even though it's a PS2 classic. SMT III: Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga are both on there, and are just as good, if not better games. Also both Suikoden I+II are available, the sequel is probably one of the most faithful and best direct game sequels I have ever seen. It may not be the same main character but the way it transitioned the events from the 1st into it are pretty amazing and I wish more games tried doing that and pulled it off as well as they did. It's similar to Pokémon, except you have to recruit them all instead for your army and build your base.

I know I have a lot more to list, I will think this over. I agree with Just Cause 2, unless you have a PC capable of playing it for the best experience.

The stand out part for JC2 on PC is the multiplayer add-on, besides that it's not much different.

The fact that Dragon's Dogma and Valkyria Chronicles weren't added from the start makes this list suspect at best!

Hard Corps Uprising, Infamous 1-2, Condemned 2, Dragons Crown, skate 1-3, are also fantastic.

Thanks Hito for the suggestions. In regards to P4 I think they meant to list the arena games. I fixed it.

Also I never thought much of Lollipop Chainsaw. I thought it was dumb but upon closer inspection it looks like stupid fun lol.

I don't know Chari about these Atelier games. I've heard that they're marketed towards weeaboos who buy games based on animu cover art or maybe I'm confused with another series? Maybe it was hyperdeminsion mentioned earlier? idk. I know you like fun gameplay and the first game you listed has a decent rating. Plus the music checks out so I guess.... >_>

    Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Nah, they are damn solid RPGs and some of them have crazy complex item creation.

The Arland series (and the Atelier games before that series) is more freeform; you are basically given an objective and a time limit and then after a short tutorial section to make sure you understand how the game works and then they just let you go.

The Dusk series is more of a mix between that and traditional RPG storytelling and is probably the best entry point for someone not sure if they want to play this kinda game. I'd recommend picking up Atelier Ayesha and then seeing if you like it. If you're like me, you'll get hooked and want to play as many alchemy games as you can.

The only reason I suggested Hyperdimension is all the inside jokes from the actual game world. Who the characters represent is super fun to figure out or learn. I do admit it's not for everyone. The Alchemist games are a must.
