Gay Marriage (and other Rights) in the U.S: Don't weary about it

Breaking ranks, court upholds gay-marriage bans in 4 states

    Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Tennessee
I feel like this might actually be a good thing, in the long run, because now the Supreme Court HAS to deal with it (I think?) and put the issue to rest. Then again, our SC is kinda stupid, so maybe not. Anyway, discuss.

I could of sworn that this already happened in ...Mississippi or Louisiana, or something. Maybe this is a higher court ruling?

I think it did, but the Supreme Court declined to hear it. Anyway, this seems to indicate that this will now go to the Supreme Court. Maybe this time they won't pass the buck. The reasoning they gave last time was that there was no split in the lower courts, and now there is, so if they decline again they'll look like asshats.

I'm pretty weary of them deciding this. I have a feeling it won't be good news.

This is dumb. The SC will just sit on their asses like they always do.

Not too weary, there are far too many high profile homosexuals for the SC to just flip the bird and say "deal with it". Imagine if people like Tim Cook made some public appearances and statements leading up to the SC making a final decision on this, the people would really get moving.

Don't be worried, the votes are already there for the pro-gay marriage decision. This is just two egotistical judges that are forcing the issue that the SC wanted to let develop over time. While there are some hold outs on the court (Scalia and Thomas), the rest would not overturn the gay marriage that they have already allowed through their previous decision. The justices are far more aware than any of us about the impact of their "non-decision" decision they made in not hearing the previous cases.

I firmly believe that these justices are students of the Brown and Roe decisions, they wanted popular opinion to shift and they wanted to spread out the anger against such a decision. By the time that they decide that the 4 other decisions were decided appropriately most people won't even really care. The opposition is already giving up in most states.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

    have to agree with ringthree.

This never should have been a voting issue, but ultimately, pushing the SC to address this is a good thing, and I doubt they will side with the bans after ignoring the passing ones.

That alone should warrant a slight title change.

I feel like I might be missing a joke somewhere but from the context it seems you meant to say wary, not weary. Unless you are genuinely tired of the gay marriage rulings being brought before the SC.
