OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW WTF?!?!?!


First attempt: Not really knowing what to expect, we Sac pull the yags north along the beach, ninja vokes the NM, promptly gets hit for 800+ through utsusemi wearing full dmg- gear. He drops before he gets to camp, blm rushes in to stun, gets raped, pld in full Koenig/Kaiser steps up, gets trashed in about 3 hits, along with that nasty 1k breath weapon attack, which also manages to destroy anything in it's path. 2nd ninja tries kiting, ES Gravity sticks for about 1 minute, then he goes back to Flee-Tool speed, pounding on the ninja through Utsusemi, and blanketing everyone that got too close to it with 50 dmg a tick poison. Eventually this wipes us.


Second attempt: shaking, crying, twitching, and generally shell shocked, we sac the yags again, Shadowbind claim Fairy Ring, haul ass back to the other side of the beach, and wait. Fairy Ring comes screaming into camp, breath attack 1 shots the ranger and the summoner standing next to him, Our plan of kiting, nuking works... ish, rotating bind and gravity and tier 4 nukes. We get the win, but with alot of death and pain.

Considering we have to spin around and handle a Charm-ga spamming Gobbue on the other side of the zone before rushing to the Mega Boss, spending 20 minutes on Fairy Ring isn't really an option. Any thoughts on a better way to kill this thing?

uhh, I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually hit through Utsusemi like your post makes it sound. We just tanked it with ninjas and kept stun on it and it went down without too much of a hitch, I think one ninja bit it. Shadowbind pulling is correct and necessary, ES magical bind should work also I guess.

o.O I apologize, I'm at a loss for how we fought it for several minutes and had only 1-2 death if that's true. I had filters on of course, so I just assumed our ninjas were tanking it, lol. Now I'm curious^^;

I don't believe hits go through utsusemi, but it liked to frequently use some frontal AOE attacks that do. Not sure if that removes utsusemi or not, though.

Only fought it once, but we had pretty minimal deaths.

we had a rng/nin pull it since he can shadow bind it. Hit right thru his NI and took him from 100% hps to like maybe 20hps. Dont remember exact numbers, just remember his hps were in the red, and werent higher than 100hps >.>

Basically all have concluded that Fairy Ring sucks big time. Little fleehaxing, hard hitting fungus. We killed him too with minimal death, but, all in all he still sucks.

I think Fairy Ring's attacks themselves are frontal AoE, so they go through shadows. All I know is mine did absolutely nothing when I pulled hate.

If you spell "Valkurm" right, and do a search for it, you'll find the 14th topic down is *gasp* about "Dynamis-Valkurm discussion thread". If you then proceed to read the topic (8 pages, I hope you can handle that much) you'll probably find what you're looking for. If nothing else, skip straight to the last page, and you'll find the exact link that somebody posted for you above.

Voila, no inane topics created that were easily avoidable.
