My account was created on the JP client but if I was to install the NA version of ToAU, have my JP codes sent to me, go into the content ID options in the JP client and register my expansion pack, would I be able to play the NA version with ToAU?

I may be completely wrong but I think POL was the only thing that you needed to change when switching languages.

Differen't connection question (wasn't worth a new thread):

I only ever bought 1 COP disk, and have it installed on both of my pcs and my gf's pc (we have 3 accounts between us). I've now installed TOAU on my pc, but it won't let me use it on my gf's pc (and my laptop isn't done updating, so I can't try). Do I have to buy 2 more copies? If so, did something change from COP? This sucks ><

I think your game discs need to all be the same language. JP ToAU, JP CoP, JP FFXI+RoZ. May be wrong though.

I was in Japan when CoP install disks came out, I asked GMs, called tech support and SE and they told me the JP disks would not work with the install I had (NA) on my laptop and it wouldn't work.
I imagine they would say the same for the other way around. They might have been misinformed/lying/etc, but I didn't risk it and got the NA expansion back then.

I guess try installing it, i think pol just updated crap, its been so long since i messed around with it though, like before COP, so it probably wont work :/

Another option would be to just install NA pol perhaps...?

and Assuming that this expansion works the same as RoZ and CoP did...

Once your account is updated(which MUST be with the Japanese Registation codes and MUST be done with the Japanese POL), then you log in as your character on any client; NA or JP.

So then if you were to install the NA version with a download or something, then update it, you will be able to log from the NA side with your upgraded Japanese ID.

The only issue I could see was POL going "you don't even have the expansion pack installed by are registering it..?" to me when I tried.
