The Dell Battery thingamabob

I know that quite a few of us on these forums use Dell Notebooks. Or, have previously used them or whatever. Apparently the batteries on some (if not most??) of the models need to be recalled. I had no idea about it, but my dad told me, and mine was actually one of the affected ones.

just incase. You just take out the battery and enter in the information and they send you a new one, it's really easy, and imo worth it since it's free.

Just wanted you all to know how to go about doing it, so you don't blow up or something!

My friend has a Dell notebook which I guess is one of the defective ones, he thought the battery was a source of hilarity. He used to heat it up then ask people to hold the laptop for a second and it would burn their gullible hands. I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to keep the old battery over getting a new one.

I never thought mine got that hot, but then again I've never had a laptop so I don't know if it was ever supposed to get as hot as it did.

And you can keep the old ones, they just send you a new one!

Usually what would happen for my laptop when it does get hot (go go no AC in Florida) was it would be the computer not the battery. I could take the battery out and it wouldn't be that hot. I don't know much about the recall but meh. It works fine enough for me. I've already had to get two new harddrives for this lappy as it is so not going to try to get anything more.
