    Final Fantasy XII Official Soundtrack

Before I post this, if this is OFN, I'm sorry. : (

Anyway, a lot of you probably know of this site already, http://www.ffextreme.com, but I recently found the entire soundtrack of
Final Fantasy 12 on there, all downloadable for free, in MP3 format. All the songs (all 100 songs, wow that's a huge soundtrack), are real nice, if you are interested. All you need to do is register real quick for free, then download away. As well as FF12, all the other Final Fantasies (including all the way back to Final Fantasy 1), and the other Squaresoft games' soundtracks, are available for download as well.

Here is the link for the FF12 Soundtrack.

Enjoy, and if this is OFN, then gg to me. : (

It kinda reminds me of Xenogears' music, I really like it. Thanks for the link!

    Nice Find!
But I have to agree that Nobou's Tracks were better.
    Still excellent music (*'-')

Will Nobuo continue to compose FF music? I heard something a while back that he quit but not entirely? Anybody know the whole story? ('~')

From what I've heard it sounds like Uematsu and Amano have not only left Squeenix, but have joined forces with Sakaguchi's new company; Mistwalker.

Amano never was a Square Enix employee, he just got contracts to do the concept artwork for the main FF bloodline (i.e. not the one-offs like the remakes, or FFT).

Uematsu stopped being their lead FF composer after X was released. He only has 2-3 tracks with his name on them on the FFXI soundtrack (<3 ronfaure).

Just as well, I'd hate to think that my entire creative career hinged on a single video game franchise of variable quality.

FFXII is a god damn good game and I like that the scope of the areas you can visit have just as broad a musical accompaniment.

He's also working on Super Smash Brothers : Brawl. Nintendo want their peice of the Nobou pie :D

Also re: Chocobo music, is it just me or does it sound too pixar-esque ? Sounds like something from monsters inc or ants or whatever shitty crap pixar gives kids to watch.

He does what he wants now from what I understand.

In October 2004, Uematsu formed Smile Please Co., Ltd. and continues to compose for Square Enix along with several other companies.

I listened to about 10-15 tracks, kinda miss Nobou here but this composer is pretty good too IMO it kinda reminds me a bit of Vagrant Story and FF:TA, seeing as it's the same composer that made music from those games. The setting of FFXII fits his music good.

The Chocobo theme has been around for some time, I think 7 started it, but maybe before. There is also an Xmas remix of it which is very neat.

I loved Amano's work, one thing I always found funny was that every lead female character he drew were typically blonde, and in the game they changed their hair colors. Terra, Aeris, and I think Garnet all had blonde hair .

It's been around since Final Fantasy 2 (for the NES).

Xenogears needed more then 2 discs of music, the music was so great (I think my fav was October Mermaid) but there wasn't enough of it so it did get a bit repetitive gaming wise, as a soundtrack though it owns. Am I the only one who think Nobuo is kinda overrated, he does a couple of good tracks but the rest really aren't anything special or even good.

You're probably alone there. He pretty much set the standard for the quality video game music achieves to be to this day. Whenever a game music composer is compared to any other composer, it's usually Uematsu.

I understand that - I'm not saying he's bad but there really aren't that many tracks I like of his, the ones I do like usually do stand out but overall I don't really like him too much.
