N00b question about fomor hate

Trying to get my nin a swift belt, got pop items and working on hate for a run. Small question though.

Originally I wanted to fight the fomors outside (in the coast) since it's easier and I can solo them while watching tv.

I know about the guy in the safehold that can tell you what lvl you are, but when I started killing I noticed that according to FFwiki he says the same thing for lvl 4 and lvl 5 hate.

Anyone know if this is the case? Or is it a typo?

If it's the same I guess I'll start killing in sacarium again which is no biggie but I'd like to know since it would make things easier if I could find out from the guy whether or not I'm ready. :D

iirc level 5 hate wears off on zone? i may be wrong but i think it puts you at 1 kill until level 5 hate. So technically their is no message for level 5. Any who, whether or not thats true, Best bet would be going in with the level of hate you have (4-5) take your group and kill on the way and try to pop it.

Unless they changed it in the last 6 months (last time I killed Balor duo) you dont lose a level of fomor hate upon zoning. I used to duo Balor with another BST, my parter was hume and would kill fomors in Miseraux to get enough hate, then we would run right in and pop Balor without killing any fomors.

Maybe you lose a level of hate zoning into Tav to check, but unless something was changed you shouldnt lose a level of hate zoning into Sacrarium.

Hate will fade over time.

I dont trust the phrase from the guy, I do trust the message ANY stale draft will tell you when you click it. Look for that message, though it sounds like you have enough. If not you do have to clear the room anyway to pop it.

Semi off topic, but not deserving of its own thread:

I never tried but always assumed that whoever poped lost all of their hate the second they traded. If thats true, the formor in the room should no longer aggro even w/o sneak up (eg formor do not aggro to 0 hate) and you can pop and pull without needing to clear the room first.

Not supprisingly I've never managed to convince anyone to risk a codex to find out, has anyone tried this and can confirm/deny that it works ?

yeah that's true BUT fomor pops engage and if you don't run, you'll get knocked down to yellow HP super face. Which will cause all the other fomor to aggro.

It seems to be true. I went on a run yesterday (everyone had to leave before I got to pop it for my belt >.<), and a galka was going to pop it and just sac pull if he got other aggro. Which he didn't.

Try it.

Edit: I duo the taru with another BST and the thing that catchs us off guard was that the taru would cast immediately after popping and it would bring the person popping down to yellow HP if he didn't use powder boots. Which would casue 1-2 taru fomor to aggro.

So either popping the fomor NM causes you to drop to LV2 hate or they aggro to yellow HP.

Guess I'll do the run when I'm at lvl 4 hate and just farm subligars in the meantime.

Try not to kill the tauri when you do an actual run, it does lower fomor hate. An ls member and I had max hate, than someone in party started soloing tauri near the entrance, I think maybe 4-5 of them? After that, we got bumped down a hate level, and it took almost two hours of fomor killing to get max hate back.

I was gonna mention the taurs as well - they're a real pain, seem to take a huge chunk out of your fomor hate. So do the farming for codex separately.

The best way to tell is when the message from the stale draft says something about your commonsense tells you leave as fast as possible.
