ps2 magic key troubles

Ok, that damned 3rd piece. I've had it in working right for the longest time, but...

Idk if it's just me, but everytime the PS2 top (slim) closes, it resets the freaking position of the 3rd key so I have to move it around again to get it working again. Is it supposed to do this or do I just have it in the wrong position? >< I've had it superglued for like a month working ok, then something fell on top of it and closed it, and now I gotta remove the glue to fix it =/
