Server Endgames

Hello everyone, I am new and I'm sorry to start off with a question but I wish to make the right choice from the start.
I viewed economies and most servers are pretty similar. Endgame however, is my primary interest. I have heard that some servers have very weak endgame content with only a select few shells able to handle HQ Kings and others so full that it'd be near impossible to join.
I'm flexible in terms of willingness to level any job required but my primary goals are mage jobs in endgame that is serious but still fun. I love sky/dynamis, I've had sea but never done Limbus, and ToAU is all new to me. I'm just really looking for a server with a decent community (people willing to sometimes help out with something like Mycophile Cuffs or maybe help with an AF quest) and endgame that is not too weak/impossible to get into.

Asura and Carbuncle are my primary choices so far, but I know nothing about their endgame life. I also noticed Bahamut (obviously, here) and Quetz have special forums for their servers. Do any others?

Its been a long time since I participated in Asura end game, so I truly couldnt tell you how it is. But there used to be 150+ camping on a typical day in Aery iirc. Not sure how it is now, but to me, it felt like I was stuck in an elevator with many fat sweaty people for hours.

oh fun! I've only done Faffy a few times and Behe/KB a few times. I mostly care about Sky/Dynamis. I'm patient but I'd rather not wait 1-2 years of being IN the shell to see anything for it heh. So huuuuuuge shells aren't my forte, but I want to do Kirin 1-2x a week if possible. I -love- sky.

I spent so much time in sky back in the day it makes me want to punch immigrants in the face when I hear sky music.

I personally think that all servers seem pretty equal now, end game is over saturated and basically go where your friends are.

while i know of at least 1 newbie friendly LS in Cerberus, for helping on the occasional AF key or Mission. Id go as far as to say that in any server you will find help at the start, and well you will have to work your way up in the end, which is where you have the chance to meet your "true" adventuring comrades (who might or might not be in the same LS) but are always there ready to give or receive help or just "hang out" -if such a thing exists on FFXI-.


Of course in the end you can always fix stuff by shouting in whitegate for a couple weeks
