    Charmga NM Strategies

This is mostly concerning the Poroggo Madame's Frog Chorus. (20' AOE iirc)

My salvage shell is having a horrible time dealing with it. We've tried the "everyone get charmed" strategy and while it prevents deaths (most of the time) our DoTs don't stick long enough to outlast the charm and we end up in a stalemate or until it gets off a -ga and we start to wipe.

We've also tried leaving someone (a THF) outside of the ally and just have them kite the army of frogs but somehow it didn't work, I was charmed at the time...

So what I'm asking is: Have we overlooked some fatal flaw in our strategies or is it meerly shit-luck that we can't kill these damned amphibians?

Don Porrogo should be no problem for 1 person stay back and kite. We did this recently, and had no issue (though I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed chasing down my allies as a Frog...)

Have the rdm alternate between dia2 and poison and cast one every 45sec. Charm last a while, but one should always be up. You could try to keep a thief outside party like you did, out of range without hate to claim it in case DoT wear off too soon.

    [edit]
No idea what's the duration of dia1/bio1, but you could easily have a dia1-->bio1->dia2-->bio2 cycle and cast 1 every 45sec. Casting the same buff twice won't reset timer, but "upgrading" it reset the timer. Fight shouldnt take more than 3-4minutes I think, so the chance of being charmed while it wear off is small. If you throw poison in between, dot should always be up unless you are extremly unlucky.

Penance is nice to reduce the frequency of charm.

Yes but it's REALLY resistant; I was BLU and had all 6 stun spells set (jetattura being 6th) and the Madame was getting off 80-90% of its spells and TP moves.

I'll have to check if our MNKs have it merited. In anycase we're not leaving Zhaylom 'till we can reliably kill the madames so we'll have lots'a practice.

Reliably stunning Charmga is tough, especially in lagged areas, but it can be done.

best way to do it right here. if you have 2 blm that manage to listen and stay out of the AoE radius, one runs from the whole alliance while the other sleepgas. kite away. if your mage has some balls or gaiters, you can kite forever.

idk if there's a pole in that room, but mob pathing around poles in nyzul at least is beyond horrific. the poles have the inner pole at the center and then the little flanges coming out from the side. at least in my experience, if you run around the pole between the central pole and the flanges, you can easily ditch anything that's tailing you. with a huge horde of people after you, that may not be viable, but if it's jut the frog, he should just dance around the pole till everyone uncharms and gets woken up.

Alternately you could have a RDM stay back with the THF to cast Bio II and Poison II on the mob when everyone is charmed.

From reading these its looking more and more like our gung-ho attitude is the problem more then mechanics of the fight. We're back in Zhayolm tomorrow so I'll let you know how our improvements pan out.

RDM stand outside Charm radius, Gravity the mob and run. Charmed players will only walk as fast as the mob so the RDM should have no problem staying away.

This is how we do UFOs at Sea.

    Huh? You sure?

I've killed plenty of Yovras myself, and landing Gravity or Bind on one doesn't stop any charmed players from moving towards me at normal running speed. Maybe you're thinking of pathing weirdness?

Well, most RDM have enhanced speed, and there is enough room to kite. What Septimus said is doable, as long your rdm is able to stay out of range at 20.1 distances. I still believe it's easier to keep DoT up and just zerg it, lower the chance of screw up

Nope, used it more than a few times and it worked well, was a tip from Wafik in a thread about them.

Maybe it didn't work and I just imagined it but that's the strategy we use now and it seems to help.
