Ok so my fiancee has recently become obsessed with this anime and I'm getting kinda into it too, but last night we watched EP #4 (EP#3 if you dont count the 1st EP in the order like the show doesn't) but it didn't make any sense at all, lol.

I hear there is an order to the series that makes sense to watch it in, does anyone know it offhand? Only time we have really to watch it is late at night after work or whatever, so being out of order gets confusing haha.

Hm, not offhand, though once a few things have been explained the random order doesn't really throw you off as much. So you may just want to watch it "in order" anyway =P

kyon style is the time line order, haruhi order is the way eps lined up when it was on tv :wink:

Moon Phase reports that the second season of Haruhi (long believed to exist and only needing confirmation) will debut in the Fall of 2007, instead of in 2008 as planned. This is, of course, good news for all of us Haruhiists. Stay tuned for official confirmation.

Yeah, watch it in the original shuffled order. It actually would be more satisfying when you watched all the way to the end to find out what happened.

Yeah, watch it in order first before you watch it in chronological order. The order of the episodes is mentioned at the end of every episode when they show the preview for the next. It's what Haruhi says the episode is and not what Kyon says.

I think the second season is supposed to air in the fall or winter of this year, not too sure.

But Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is definitely an awesome anime. It's worth a second watch, and it's worth it to learn the dance as well.

Second season is going to rock. I saw the first episode [Haruhi's, the Movie ep] when it was out in Japan, and was like "wtf? this sucks" and pretty much ignored it for a while. Then based on everybody's love I gave it a second chance, watched the 2nd ep, and fell in love with it.

That episode is the only problem I've had getting people to like this anime lol.

I always tell them to at least watch the first 2-3 episodes before judging it now.

I hate the first ep of the anime tbh. Its really skimped when you read the novel part of it. They dont explain anything about whats going on in the anime. Like, why Shamisin talks, why Nagato kept tackling Ashaina, ect.

Amazingly enough, the anime was pretty accurate to the novel for the most part.

Though Kyon's narrator voice is much better IMO, since he made analogies with the most random/mundane stuff.
